Important Academic Reminders!
Quarters 1 & 3: consist of Periods 1, 3, 5 & 7.
Quarters 2 & 4: consist of Periods 2, 4 & 6.
2. A quarter system is at a much faster pace, one week is equivalent to two weeks in a traditional semester.
3. We have a traditional grading scale this year (A, B, C, D, and F) Credit and No Mark grades will NOT be given.

Hello Matadors!
My name is Grecia Rivas, a matador alumni and also a counselor intern for the SDSU Upward Bound/HCOP program. We provide service to students who are interested in learning more about college and career exploration. Upward bound offers many opportunities to engage with other high school students around the San Diego county, through once a month Saturday sessions, and a fun 6-week summer academy. During the summer academy you will get to experience the college life by taking a course at SDSU for high school credit, internship opportunities, leadership growth, field experiences, and many more opportunities! You will also have the opportunity to join me for academic advising and tutoring every other week to learn and work on your educational and personal goals. The best part of all is you could earn money for attending and it's completely free!!! You read that right, it's completely free!
Contact Grecia Rivas at grivas@sdsu.edu or visit our website https://education.sdsu.edu/pci/ub and fill out the "interest form".
*When emailing, please use a personal email address.
I look forward to your interest in being part of this family called Upward Bound!

Greetings from UCSD’s TRIO Outreach Programs! UCSD TRIO Outreach values the opportunity to work with students and their families to improve academic achievement and ensure greater access to higher education. As you may know, our program targets students who show potential for college and who meet the guidelines of first-generation college-bound youth from low-income families.
UCSD TRIO Outreach operates an Educational Talent Search program at your school site. Talent Search provides the following FREE services to all selected participants: tutoring, college advising, workshops, field trips, mentorship, and career awareness activities.
Each year, our staff makes every effort to identify and recruit participants for the Talent Search program. If selected into the program students recruited will be provided with services until they graduate from high school. We are continuing to provide services to students and families remotely via virtual advising during the school closures/COVID-19 pandemic. All students who are U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents and want to attend college are encouraged to apply!
