Notes from the Principal
Dear MacArthur Families,

Thanks to USDA funding, these meals will be available through the end of the of the 2020-2021 School Year. Each student can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch daily. This applies to meals (breakfast and lunch), not snacks and beverages.
Important: You MUST still complete a free and reduced meal application to qualify for textbook assistance for this school year!
On behalf of all of us hear at MacArthur I would like to wish everyone a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable Fall Break. Please remember there is no school on Friday, October 16th and Monday, October 19th.

Blocked Emails from Crown Point School
It has been called to our attention that a few email providers are blocking communications coming from Crown Point school emails. This includes emails from individual accounts such as teachers, principals, and all other support staff. It does NOT include automated emails from School Messenger. Our technology department continues to investigate the issue. As of today, we know the domains below are affected. There may be additional domains that we are not aware of yet.
@icloud.com
@me.com
@allstate.com
@nisource.com
@comhs.org
@hpe.com
@raymondjames.com
@butler.edu
Our technology department is working with these email providers to remedy the issue. If you need to contact individuals at our school, you may need to do so by phone. A link to our staff directory is available here.
In a world of digital communications, this issue is inconvenient for all of us. Please know that we are working diligently to fix this problem.
News from Our School Counselor
Parents/Guardians,
In order for students to be truly successful both at school and at home, there must be consistency between the two. At home, focus on the most important behaviors and create a short and straight forward list of rules/consequences. Establishing structure is also key. When your child is at school, their day is very much mapped out and planned. Keep that same structure at home, and even setting a designated homework time can make all the difference! Also, frequent contact with your child’s teacher is very important. Doing these little things at home can set your child up for success at school!
