Charger Check-In

A Note from Ms. Owens
Happy Halloween to the entire St. Catherine family! Today, we had Mals, Evies, M&Ms, unicorns, presidents, Spider Men, Woodys, Jessies, Bears players, Sox players, Cubs players, Marios & Luigis, and a huge herd of animals in onesies! Be safe if you're trick-or-treating in the snow later today.
On Friday and Saturday, we will celebrate All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Tomorrow, the students and teachers will attend All Saints Day Mass at 10 AM and remind ourselves of the call to live as saints. On All Souls Day, we have the opportunity to remember those people have gone before us.
Near the bottom of this Check-In, you will see a video with reflections on All Saints Day from Bishop Baron, founder of Word on Fire. The video is less than 10 minutes and offers helpful reminders and insights about All Saints Day and what it means to us.
If you haven't already completed a SWOT analysis, please take 5-10 minutes to share your feedback. Your input is important as we begin work on our new strategic plan.
On November 6, our 5th-8th students will participate in a cyber safety presentation during school. That night, parents are invited to participate in a similar presentation created specifically for parents at 6:30 PM in Kane Hall. I encourage to attend as the social media landscape evolves quickly and there is always something new to learn.
Following the parent presentation, the Wellness Committee is hosting a mini-retreat for women. The retreat will be in the library and will start at 7:30 PM.
Finally, please scroll down to the posting about Directory Spot to make sure your most current information is included in the directory.
Thank you for all you do to support the St. Catherine community! Have a great rest of the week.
Peace,
Kristine Owens
Strategic Plan - SWOT Analysis
This year brings us to the tail end of the school's three-year strategic plan which means it's time to draw up a new strategic plan. As we begin work on the new strategic plan, it is important that we hear from our stakeholders - and parents are certainly an important group of stakeholders.
- Just below this note, you will see a button labeled "Strategic Plan - SWOT Analysis." (SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.)
- You will also see a button linking you to a short video explaining what a SWOT analysis is in case it is something new to you.
- I urge you to take 5 or 10 minutes to participate in the SWOT so the school can gather your insights and use them to inform the development of our new strategic plan.
- Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to share their feedback.
- The feedback form will be open until the end of October.
What is a SWOT analysis? (end after 4 minute mark)

Tuesday Hot Lunch Ordering
The link for placing hot lunch orders is below. Please remember that ordering closes at noon the day before delivery.
There will, of course, be days when parents have ordered a hot lunch and their child is absent. On those days, parents (or another designated person) are welcome to pick up the child's lunch. In order for this to happen, parents must notify the school of the hot lunch pick-up prior to 11 AM and then the actual lunch must be picked up before 12:30 PM. We cannot keep lunches beyond that or send them home with students due to food safety regulations.
