Families - We have so much to celebrate! Please get settled and comfortable for this week's newsletter while I take the time to brag and show off your kids and their teachers...
This week Gaudet Learning Academy was awarded a Certificate of Special Recognition from our Governor Daniel J. McKee for our work as a Feinstein Leadership School. This year our food drive and Kindness Tree was recognized by the Feinstein Foundation. Rock on GLA!
Student Team Leaders Present at School Committee
On Thursday evening, GLA's Student Leadership Team presented to our School Committee. Their presentation highlighted our partnership with Anchored 4 Life and their commitment to welcoming new students into our school throughout the school year. The School Committee alongside Superintendent Mrs. Kraeger, cheered them on and couldn't help but be impressed by their leadership.
Middle of the Year Testing
Teaching and Learning
Our teachers continue to use direct instruction and then small group instruction to make gains in Math and Literacy. Due to these research based strategies, the engagement in GLA classrooms is impressive to watch!

Department of Student Services Special Education Local Advisory Committee
The Special Education Local Advisory Committee (SELAC) is a group of families and professionals working together to provide guidance to the Department of Student Services concerning Special Education Services. We act as an advocacy group for all students with disabilities and provide support for families.
An effective SELAC is more than a meeting - it’s a partnership that values the input of families and caregivers. When parent advisors are valued and engaged, we can work together with school district staff and community leaders to improve education, not only for our own children, but for all Middletown students.
We are excited to announce our meetings for the 2023-24 school year
