Parents and Caregivers are invited to this Parent Open House on Empathy Building
Join us Friday, December 11, 2015 from 8:30 to 9:45 AM for an introduction to the ccc program at CPE II. Coffee and a light breakfast will be served.
Last year Jessica Klein introduced empathy-building games to parents and staff at CPE II. This year she received a grant creating compassionate communities (ccc) supported by the Center for Health Innovation (CHI) at Adelphi University. to continue and expand this work.
She has already stared work with the CPE II staff. We are now having our OPEN HOUSE for parents and Caregivers and held the first parent Open House last Tuesday. It is now being repeated on Friday, December 11, from 8:30am – 9:45am.
ccc consists of a group of education professionals dedicated to helping schools and other communities create more empathy and caring relationships, decrease hurtful behaviors and eradicate bullying.
Jessie Klein, mom of Susan (Joianne's class) is an Associate Professor of sociology and criminal justice at Adelphi University and the author of The Bully Society.
