Coronavirus Information in EICS
"Love First, Last, & Always"
Do you remember being afraid of the dark as a kid? Your parents may have plugged in a nightlight or left the hall light on. That little bit of light had the power to take away your childhood fear of the dark.
In Matthew’s gospel, we are urged to shine. We are reminded that when we light a lamp, we don’t light it and then proceed to hide it under a table or in a closet. We put it in a prominent place. Jesus wants to be a light in our world, and He is relying on us to shine our light for Him. Be a light in your family. Be a light in your neighborhood. Be a light in your community. Be a light for others. If you have the desire to let your light shine, God’s grace will provide for you.
You have sent your Son, O God, to be a light for the nations
And a saviour of all people.
Grant to us an untiring spirit
That we might transform the darkness of the world
By actions that are just and merciful.
Let us be a light to the word.
And may our light reflect that of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ
Who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.
A Message from our school Chaplain - Mrs. Beliveau
Letter from Archbishop Smith
As of March 16th, the Archdiocese of Edmonton has made several changes in accordance with our province's and Chief Medical Officer's directions.
All weekday and weekend masses are cancelled until further notice. Archbishop Smith has granted all the Catholic faithful dispensation from our Sunday obligation. All parish Lenten missions, penitential services, and sacramental preparation classes are also cancelled.
We are encouraged to participate "remotely" in mass:
- Daily mass is available on Salt + Light TV or Vision TV or online at https://dailytvmass.com/daily-tv-mass/.
- The Archdiocese will live stream Sunday mass at 10:30 from St. Joseph's Basilica. Visit their Facebook page at Facebook.com/archedmonton. No Facebook account is required to view it.
- Daily Mass is also available at Bishop Barron's Word on Fire chapel
- Divine Liturgies: Saint Josaphat Cathedral (Edmonton) will livestream Sunday liturgy at stjosaphat.ab.ca. Saint Stephen Parish (Calgary) will post a recorded Divine Liturgy at saintstephencalgary.ca.

School Fee Message to Parents
We have received a few questions regarding fees and refunds for the remainder of the year. We appreciate that during this time of uncertainty, families are looking for clarification and direction on all impacts of class cancellations.
Similar to all school divisions across the province, we are currently waiting for Alberta Education direction as to if and when the school will reopen prior to September 2020. Once we receive further notice from the province, the Finance Department will work with Schools to process credit or refund to student accounts. As soon as EICS has further information on this, we will certainly share this with all of our families. This also applies to the hot lunch program.
LITTLE ORCHARD SADOCHOK PRESCHOOL - REGISTER NOW!
We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 school year! We are an English based preschool program with some Ukrainian fun! Program is for 4 year old's and will be based out Jean Vanier Catholic School in Sherwood Park. To obtain registration forms or if you have any questions, please email either bucpssecretary@gmail.com or little.orchard.sadochok@gmail.com.
*** PLEASE NOTE: The Little Orchard Sadochok Preschool has always ran with a volunteer board, typically comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At a minimum, we require individuals to step up into the President and Treasurer roles - without these integral positions filled, we will be unable to move forward and run the program for the 2020/2021 school year. Fortunately we have had someone come forward to take on the Treasurer role (thank you!), but we are still actively seeking a President for the preschool. Please reach out to your Executive if you have any questions or wish to help. ***
