Benchmarks Start This Week
World History
This week we are looking at World War II. There is a set of inquiry based projects designed for Units 9 and 10. The interwar years and World War II work for where we are in our pacing. Check them out.
Be on the look out for Unit 9 M/C bank questions in the PSL Library. All questions for all units can be found in the assessment folder for the unit. So, if they are not in the library yet, you can look in the folder. They are not prettied up and are listed individually, but, you do have access to them.
Civics and Economics
We are winding down the world of Economics. It is almost time for Trade. Remember, there is a whole unit completed for Trade. Feel free to adapt it as you see fit.
Thinking ahead to PFL, remember, EVERFI, is a great resource to use to support the PFL standards. Like any resource, it is only as good as the teacher implementation of the resource. EVERFI should not be used as the sole method of teaching PFL.
Be on the look out for Unit 6 M/C bank questions in the PSL Library. All questions for all units can be found in the assessment folder for the unit. So if they are not in the library yet, you can look in the folder. They are not prettied up and are listed individually, but, you do have access to them.
American 1
We are finishing up Unit 5! How is it possible that we only have 1 unit left? The last part of Unit 5 focuses on migration/immigration and the reaction to diverse groups living in the United States.
It is at this point we often examine the Gold Rush. There are numerous articles about African Americans in California at this time. Here are two such articles: "Negro Rights Activities in Gold Rush California" and "Gold Rush Era to 1900". And, the HERB site offers a lot of primary sources on Chinese Immigrants.
American 2
There are a ton of primary sources to look at for this unit. To help not be overwhelmed, HERB has some great sources all in one location.
