ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION
Faculty can complete enrollment verification for their courses between Monday, September 6, starting at noon, until Tuesday, September 7th at midnight in WebAdvisor. All faculty should keep track of attendance for the first two weeks in order to facilitate your ability to complete enrollment verification. Champlain College must verify the enrollment of all students in order to properly distribute financial aid money.
Academically related activities other than class attendance can qualify for verifying enrollment. Please read the instructions to understand what qualifies. Instructions for Enrollment Verification
REMINDER: CAMPUS MASK REQUIREMENT
As a reminder, we have a campus mask requirement for all individuals when indoors. This FAQ describes when masks are required and when they are not. Faculty should feel empowered to remind students in their class of our Community Health Pledge and our masking requirement. Compliance with all of our COVID-19 policies is a requirement of our Community Health Pledge which states:
Failure to adhere to the health and safety measures listed above potentially impacts an individual’s ability to access the physical campus. For students this may include immediate removal from campus for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis if deemed warranted.
HOW TO REPORT EMPLOYEE POSITIVES OR CLOSE CONTACTS
The following message was in the COVID policy update email sent on Saturday, August 28th. Please pay close attention to this policy and the link to the form can be found below in each Academic Affairs Brief and in Faculty Central.
Employees who test positive for COVID-19 or have been identified as a close contact by a medical provider have a duty to report this information to the College. Employees can report this information through this form. This action enables the employee health team to evaluate potential impact to campus and quickly provide contact tracing. The College will provide testing to asymptomatic employees who are identified as close contacts by a health professional through a campus exposure. It also enables the People Center to support employees in utilizing sick time, working remotely, and following the isolation or quarantine guidance of health officials. Employees who wish to talk through any scenario are welcome to contact the Employee Health Team at employeehealth@champlain.edu.
PORTABLE AMPLIFIERS FOR FACULTY
A portable amplifier can help you preserve your voice and allow students in the back of the room to hear you better, particularly when wearing a mask. Academic Affairs has ordered portable amplifiers for faculty to use while teaching. They are available on a first-come basis. Please sign up for one if you have concerns about your voice projecting clearly with a mask throughout the day. They will be assigned to faculty for the semester (not shared).
WORK STUDY SUPERVISORS - TRAINING COURSE FOR STUDENT WORKERS NOW AVAILABLE!
Another academic year is upon us and many students are beginning new jobs. We now have an updated Student Employee Training course in Canvas. Students can self-enroll using this link: https://champlain.instructure.com/enroll/WT3MAK
This course takes new (and returning) student employees through some basics of professionalism and conduct at work, as well as processes such as timecard entry and using their email and google calendar in a professional setting. This training was first created in 2019, with the goal of making the onboarding and training experience for student employees more universal, and easier for managers. Since implementing it, we have heard from many student managers that it has had a very positive impact on their onboarding process. We hope that you will consider using it with your team as well!
You can track whether your student employee(s) have completed the training using this sheet. If you have any questions, please reach out to Sarah Camille Wilson, Lauren Bruneau, or drop by the library to say hello in person!
More information coming soon about the monthly Work-Study Supervisor’s Roundtable meetings!
