Fall Break is Almost here!

All NCCAE parents and families will begin receiving access to this weekly digital newsletter with updates and announcements that would normally go home in our Parent Communication Folders. Due to the need to significantly reduce school printing costs, the majority of announcements will now be sent out via parent emails, parent calls, posted on our school social media and placed on our school website.

CCSD Families,

Due to the potential flooding from Tropical Storm Nicole, schools, programs, and offices located downtown on the peninsula of Charleston are moving to eLearning or remote work days tomorrow, Thursday, November 10, 2022. All CCSD buildings located in downtown Charleston will be closed.

The only schools that will be closed as a result of this decision are:

• Buist Academy
• Charleston Progressive Academy
• Charleston Development Academy
• James Simons Montessori School
• Julian Mitchell Elementary School
• Memminger Elementary School
• Sanders-Clyde Elementary School
• Simmons-Pinckney Middle School
• Burke High School
• Early College High School
• Charleston Charter School for Math and Science

Your child’s teacher(s) or school will communicate plans for learning tomorrow later this evening.

CCSD magnet bus transportation from downtown to Military Magnet Academy, School of the Arts, Academic Magnet High School, Septima P. Clark Academy, Daniel Jenkins Academy, and Liberty Hill Academy may have limited bus stops. Please check the district website for specific information. It will be posted on the CCSD website by 4:00 p.m.

Only afterschool programs in the downtown area of CCSD scheduled for Thursday, November 10, 2022, are canceled, including Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope programs that are not located on the peninsula will be open.

One additional note, the District 3 Community Meeting scheduled for tomorrow is postponed.

Due to the forecast for inclement weather related to Tropical Storm Nicole, the entire district will now be moving to an eLearning Day tomorrow, Friday, November 11, 2022. School and district buildings will be closed.

Your child’s teacher or school will provide additional information about eLearning for tomorrow sometime later this afternoon or evening.

Kaleidoscope and all other extracurricular activities and afterschool programs scheduled for Friday, November 11, 2022 are canceled.

Dear NCCAE Parents & Families

As you have already been notified by CCSD, tomorrow November 11th has been designated as an eLearning Day. Classroom teachers will be directly notifying parents by 7:30 a.m. on Friday November 11th of the following:

Please stay safe and we look forward to welcoming everybody back to school on Monday, November 14th.

Nutritional services is having a Thanksgiving lunch on November 17, 2022 and parents are welcome to come in to have lunch with their learners! You must RSVP and pay for your parent meal by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, to be in our cafeteria count for November 17, 2022.

Lunch consists of turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, and seasoned green beans. The cost of lunch is $4.25 per person. If you would like to reserve a space to eat with your child, please complete the form below and send it with you money by the morning of Tuesday, November 15th to your child’s teacher. If you are unable to print the form and you didn't receive one from your child, please click this link and complete the form and send in your money labeled to your child's teacher.
