We have certainly had a lot of fun this week with our Winter Spirit Days! There have been many fun sweaters, fuzzy socks and flannel everywhere. We're looking forward to seeing what everyone wears next week.

EV Spirit Days: "The 9 Wild Winter Spirit Days"

Our next Spirit Weeks are coming up from Monday, December 12th through Thursday, December 22nd. Please see below for details:


  • Monday, December 12th: Flannel Day: wear your favorite warm flannel shirt
  • Tuesday, December 13th: Winter or a Winter Holiday Hat Day (headbands, etc.)
  • Wednesday, December 14th: Warm Wacky Sock Day
  • Thursday, December 15th: Slippers Day
  • Friday, December 16th: National Ugly Sweater Day: wear your ugliest winter or winter holiday sweater/sweatshirt
  • Monday, December 19th: Festive Monday: wear your festive clothing for winter or a winter holiday (shirts, socks, sweaters, hats, headbands, etc. No pajamas, please.)
  • Tuesday, December 20th: Winter Sports Day: wear your favorite shirt/jersey or colors of your favorite winter sports team
  • Wednesday, December 21st: First Day of Winter: let's welcome winter by dressing like a snowman--wear white, a hat, a scarf, etc.
  • Thursday, December 22nd: Snooze Day: wear your school appropriate pajamas and bring your favorite stuffed animal to school

Variety Show Registration Information

We are excited to announce that it's once again time to register your child/children for the annual Evergreen Variety Show! Students have the opportunity work alongside grade level peers and adult volunteers to learn a fun and easy dance routine during evening rehearsals from January to April.

Kindergarten & 3rd Grade: A Message from Mrs. McOwen

Attention all Kindergarten Parents/Guardians:

If you still need to send in the required School Dental Exam Form and/or School Physical Exam Form, please do so as soon as possible.


Attention all Third-Grade Parents/Guardians:

The state mandates all third-grade students complete and send in a school dental form. If you still need to send in the required Dental Exam Form, please do so as soon as possible. Any exam dated after July 1, 2021 is acceptable.


If you have questions or concerns, please notify Mrs. McOwen at rmcowen@pvsd.org.

New Winter Coats Available

Winter is on its way! If you are in need of a new coat for your child, please reach out to our school counselors, Mrs. Turner (last names A-K) or Mrs. Shearer (last names L-Z). They would be happy to get you connected with one, no questions asked.

PV Power Packs

PV Power Packs is a weekend food program for students experiencing food insecurity. Bags of food, including 2 breakfast items, 2 lunch items, 2 snacks, and 2 fruits, are sent home with students prior to every weekend. There is no financial information required to participate in this program and students pick up their bags from their counselor or designated person every week.

Powerpacks Application (Spanish)

Flexible Instructional Days (FID) in 22-23

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) approved the use of Flexible Instructional Days (FID) as an alternate form of instruction in response to inclement weather or other emergencies. On a FID day, instruction will be virtual. FID assist schools in meeting the required 180 student days. PA Schools may use up to five (5) FID per school year - in PVSD, we will utilize FID when all 3 inclement weather days built into the district calendar are used.
