Message from Dr. Fay & Mrs. Henson

Dear Crossroads Community,

Our House System is off and running and we are seeing positive results across the board. Students are doing well with earning House points and celebrating each other. Crossroads staff have handed out almost 11,000 points so far!

For the month of September, our House with the most points was I’gnosi! This means that House I’gnosi’s flag will fly on the flagpole for the entire month of October. What a great achievement! Congratulations to House I’gnosi!

On September 29 we were able to celebrate our Corgi Students of the Month (STOM) during every single lunch. Forty-seven students were recognized and each had a chance to spin our House Wheel. This was the first time students were allowed to touch the House Wheel. The excitement and energy during the STOM celebration was awesome! We had one student earn 100 points for their House and another student earned double the high for the day which was 200 points for their house.

We’d like to thank Craig Wagner, the parent of two Crossroads students, for building and funding our House Wheel! It is absolutely beautiful and the students loved being able to spin it. Thank you, Craig!

Please encourage your kids to continue to be awesome and to help their Houses out with earning points.

Have a wonderful October!

Dr. Damian Fay & Mrs. Kristen Henson

Updated Proof of Residency Requirements

Starting with the 2021-2022 school year, our buildings will ask every current family to provide updated proof of residency to the school that serves the oldest child in the family.

The documents will be collected August 1 through October 31. A list of the approved documents is provided below.

Please send your proof of residency to the email address associated with the school your oldest child attends: Residency Proof Email Addresses by Building

If you have already provided residency proof, thank you! New enrollments will be required to provide full proof of residency documentation.

Provide current utility bill (water, sewer, electric, gas) within the last 30 days with matching mailing address and service address.

Provide current lease with all occupant names and utility bill (water, sewer, electric, gas) within the last 30 days. Utility bill mailing address and service address must match. If a lease transitions to month-to-month then provide the updated addendum. If it is a mobile home trailer and pad, then the lease for both should match. Leases should include all pages of the lease.

Residing with Someone Else:

Owner/Lessee should provide a lease, ALTA Settlement Statement, or Real Estate Tax Statement. Owner/Lessee should also provide a utility bill, valid photo ID, and notarized letter. Parent/Guardian residing with someone else should provide a photo ID and Affidavit of Residency Form. Parent/Guardian residing with someone else should also provide official mail from a federal/state agency, current bank statement/loan statement, or utility bill.

All guardianship situations and documentation will need to be updated this year and annually.

Please contact your school's secretary or registrar for further information.

Arrival and Dismissal - Please Read Carefully

All of our car riders and our daycare van riders will go to the gym at the end of the day. Once in the gym, a staff member will call students’ names over the radio for them to come out to meet their vehicle. A staff member will escort students to each car.

PLEASE READ: We are no longer allowing parents to walk up to get their children. You will need to drive through the pick-up line.

We sent home lime green car tags with all students on their first day of school, 8/24. If you need additional tags, please check in the main office. ***PLEASE USE A THICK MARKER TO FILL THESE OUT***

When you drive through the car lanes, please have the lime green car tag on your dashboard where we can see the names of your students. If you do not have the car tag, we will have to check your ID, radio the office, and wait for them to clear you before we can call your child out. As you can imagine, this will slow down the process for everyone.

A few other things to keep in mind with this process: Please remember, we do not accept dismissal changes after 3:00 pm. Also, our primary focus is student safety and 3:20 is a critical time when children can potentially get lost in the shuffle; it is imperative that we streamline the secretaries’ time to focus only on emergencies that arise. With that in mind, please understand that we will not permit access to the office after 3:20 to check out a student. Please plan accordingly so we aren’t caught in the position to have to tell you no. Also, remember that you are responsible for calling in to change if your walker will become a car rider during the days with inclement weather. We will no longer be sending a text about rainy day dismissals.

The expectation is all parents will have the lime green car tags ready to go by August 30. If you have any questions or thoughts, please let us know.

Please review our arrival and dismissal maps below:

PTA Update!

Hi Corgis!

Happy October! This may be our busiest month of the year, but we are very excited about everything that is coming up.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Chipotle dining night last month! It was a huge success and we made over $650. We hope to see you at Coldstone Creamery on October 7 from 4pm – 8pm for our next dining night. Coldstone will be donating 25% of the proceeds from the evening back to our school. Don’t forget to tell them that you’re there with Crossroads!

Another big thanks to all of the volunteers who helped serve snow cones during Patriots Day! The kids loved them and it was great to be a part of such a special day.

Thank you also to everyone who attended Party on the Playground! It was an amazing evening; we estimate close to 400 people were in attendance! Families had fun playing on the playground and with yard games, kids got paw tattoos in their house colors, and everyone enjoyed the snow cones on the hot night. A big thank you to all of the volunteers who helped with the event, especially our social event chairs Kelly Hartnett and Carrie Branson.

At the end of the month, we will be bringing back the Pumpkin Glow. This event was a huge hit last year and we can’t wait to see everyone’s pumpkins this year. Information on how to participate, attend and volunteer will be sent home soon. This month we will also be sending home information on how to be a part of our virtual Veterans Day assembly in November.

We’re Going Crazy

We are very excited about our new fundraiser this year, Raise Craze. Raise Craze is a fundraiser where students collect donations and then show their appreciation by serving others and completing random Acts of Kindness. In other words, students spend time serving, not selling! The way it works is students ask friends and family members to support our school by making tax deductible donations, and then they pay it forward by doing good deeds. We will be running the fundraiser through October 13. Hopefully you’ve already registered your students, but if not, here is how:

Registration Link:

1. Enter your student’s name

2. Select at least 3 Acts of Kindness

3. Enter 5-10 email addresses of potential supporters. Raise Craze will send all emails, reminders and thank you notes. Emails will never be shared with third parties or used for marketing.

Information At A Glance:

Dates: September 29 - October 13

Our Goal: $45,000

School-Wide Service Week of Service: 10/4-10/8

Collection Drives: 9/29-10/13

Every student can participate in Raise Craze by completing Acts of Kindness (AOK) so we’re aiming for 100% participation. As a little encouragement, there is a prize just for registering and logging your first AOK. Prizes can be earned just by sending emails and logging AOK.

Questions? You can check out the FAQ on our website, or contact us at

We chose Raise Craze because it reinforces kindness in the classroom and improves the culture of our school. We loved that everyone can participate by completing Acts of Kindness. No one is left out! And because Raise Craze is about more than just raising money, we’ve set an Acts of Kindness goal in addition to a financial goal. No Act of Kindness is too small and every one counts so please encourage your children to log Acts of Kindness on their personal websites every day. If we meet our goals, Dr. Fay and Mrs. Henson will be having a lip sync battle at our Closing Celebration. We all want to see that!

Stay tuned, we’ve got lots of fun events coming up!

You Shop, The School Gets Paid!

Did you know that when you shop on Amazon, it’s easy for Crossroads to get a small percentage from your purchase? All you have to do is shop through AmazonSmile instead of Amazon. Once you’ve set up your account, your shopping experience will be identical. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice. Crossroads Elementary PTA would be grateful to be the charity you choose. Go to to get started. Once you’ve set this up, it’s easy to set up your Amazon app to link to AmazonSmile as well.
