Saints Spotlight
September 2019
From the Principal's Desk
Welcome to the SCHS 2019-2020 School Year!
Our students have been engaged with opening day programming including the Aug. 20th "Ninth Grade Orientation", the Aug. 26th & 27th "Saints Days", Peer2Peer Training, Band Camp, Student Council Work Sessions, and Fall Athletics. We attempt to make at least one connection with all of our students to aid their transition back to school.
In order for families to receive messages on these and future events, contact information - including email addresses - needs to be up to date. Please check and update your Skyward contact information. You should be receiving regular email contacts from both the Counselors and the Administration. Thank you for staying connected.
We are anticipating another excellent school year that includes opportunities for students to grow and achieve. The relationship between SCHS and our student families is essential to this success. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your student's teacher/coach/adviser for detailed information.
I hope you are able to enjoy one or more SCHS fall athletic/ fine arts performances/ student activities. Active participation in student life is a key element of a positive student experience.
Respectfully, RCMiller

The Imagination Station Rebuild Sept. 10-15
Can you help? The Imagination Station is being rebuilt in St Clair. This is the playground at Greig Park on Carney Drive (also known to many children as the brown playground or the wood playground). This playground was built 25 years ago and was in need of safety upgrades as well as making it a more inclusive playground so that all children can benefit. (Learn more here<https://www.stclairrec.com/imagination-station-project/>) We are working hard to find 2000 volunteers to help with the week long community build.
There is a job for everyone:
* Skilled Construction Teams – Skilled workers who are comfortable using professional grade power tools (can use a skill saw and cut a straight line), ladder work and lifting.
* Construction Team – People who can paint, carry and assist the skilled team members.
* Food Service Team – Manning the food and beverage tent.
* Check In, Runners, Tool Tent – Will man the check-in/volunteer tent, run volunteers to the appropriate team, hand out tools.
