Te Rōhutu Whio 11th April 2022

Kia ora e te whānau!
We are extremely proud of our tamariki for their enthusiasm in a term which has been full of red light restrictions. Elsie and Tanvir brought over their model of the titanic to share today. Whānau, we have loved the chats at the gate and the lovely emails that come in. Our staff feel very appreciated by you all.
Kaiako teachers are excited about the personalised learning hui meetings being held this Thursday 14th April and Monday 2nd May. Normal classes will not be held these days due to the personalised learning plan that is developed with each child. Normal classes will resume on Tuesday 3rd May. Busy Bumbles is now booked out. However If you need to send your child to school, please email Kate, Kaihautū Principal at katem@terohutuwhio.school.
We are excited to offer adult Te Reo lessons during Term 2. These are for beginners and will be held on Thursdays and run from the 12th of May to the 7th of July from 6-8pm. The classes are capped at 15 so it will be the first expressions of interest that are taken. Please get your interest into Kate at katem@terohutuwhio.school.nz. It is $35.00 per term. However if the fee will be a challenge, please let Kate know.
We are very thankful to Kerrie for fronting Te Rōreka our office at the beginning of the year and for setting up administration at Te Rōhutu Whio during the foundation phase. Although we will be sad to see Kerrie go, we know that she will love her dream job at Pitau Allenvale School.
We hope that you all have a lovely and relaxing Easter break. We are hoping to have a Mihi Whakatau Welcome on Thursday 5th May at 9.30. However, due to Covid restrictions, we will make a decision on Monday 2nd May and will email to let you know.
Kia pai te rā. Enjoy your day.

Fundamental Sports Spectacular
Last wiki we celebrated our “Fundamental Sports Spectacular”. This was an amazing morning where all of our Year 0-2 ākonga were able to participate in a range of team sports. We had some super fun games like “Farmers and Chickens”, “Human Knot”, "Pizza Tag” and more!
Our amazing Whakatipu Kaihautū sports leaders trained for these sessions, and then delivered them on the day. We saw so much amazing leadership and our tamariki had so much fun trying some new and exciting games!
We finished off with our Whakatipu Kaihautū having a “tug of war” challenge!
Swimming
Please check that your child has togs and goggles suitable for wearing to the pool.
More information will be available next term about the times and associated costs. You will also receive a survey about your child’s swimming level.
