Where we LOVE to read!
Roaring Rivers Readers! Accelerated Reader (AR) Incentive Reading Program
In the media center this month we have been having D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) time and students have had an opportunity to read with a partner and take AR tests. Here are some pictures of our happy readers https://photos.app.goo.gl/dQyocGJ7j7Hd9UTX9. Let's all work together to encourage our students, children and little friends to read each night! It's so much fun and incredibly beneficial!
November is Picture Book Month!
The Scholastic Book Fair is Finally HERE!
Our "Enchanted Forest" Scholastic Book Fair is November 8-15th from 7:30-3:00 p.m. Students will have an opportunity to come down to Room 1111 to shop at the Book Fair at a designated time with their class.
You can shop online at this website http://www.scholastic.com/bf/eriverselementaryschool. Books will be packaged individually for each student and shipped to the school. The packages will be given to each homeroom teacher to distribute. Parents will also have the opportunity to load their child's eWallet with money so students will not have to carry cash using the above website.
We will also host "Pastries with Parents" for students and family members. Students with the last name A-M will be invited on Monday, November 12th and students with the last name N-Z will be invited on Tuesday, November 13th. Doors will open at 7:00 a.m. on these two days.
We want to make sure each and every child gets a new book to enjoy! Please let Mrs. Boston how she can make this happen for all our students!
Online Reading Options
You can access MyOn by going to My APS backpack https://launchpad.classlink.com/atlanta and type in the student username and password. If you need your child's username and password, please contact your child's homeroom teacher or feel free to contact Mrs. Boston in the media center at pboston@atlanta.k12.ga.us.
