Volunteer Shout Out to Colonial Day Station Leaders & Volunteers
Our 5th Graders experienced colonial America on Friday, November 22nd and what a day it was! The children and adults came in their colonial day wear and looked fantastic! They experienced many aspects of colonial life from hands-on candle making, to quilting, penmanship with feather quills, a spinning demonstration, colonial food, making homemade butter, hat making, colonial children's games and were entertained by a short film about Ben Franklin.
The children enjoyed it immensely and we couldn't have done it without...

...for taking on leadership roles, preparing and leading the children through their stations. These volunteer station chairpersons put in hours and hours of work before the big day!
To Tracy Reynolds, our Colonial Day chairman, and Amanda Ball, our PTO president for supervising and keeping everything coordinated.
A special thanks to the numerous volunteers who gave of their time to help work each station!
A big thank you to our amazing 5th grade teachers who are the real experts on this Colonial Day event. Thanks for answering our numerous questions, making the schedule and all your wonderful suggestions. We have a great school and great volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities by Deepa Ozarkar
We are still in need of a Homeroom Coordinator for Mrs. Tanguay’s 5th grade class. If you are interested in volunteering to be HRC, even if your child is not in this class, please email CopelandPTOVIPS@gmail.com. The VIPS Coordinator will get you connected with your class.
Throughout the year, HRCs will keep you informed of class parties, school events, volunteer opportunities and much more. If you haven’t received any emails from your HRC, please ask your child's teacher for your HRC’s contact information and reach out to the HRC to ensure she has your correct email address.
Spirit Cart
Thanks for volunteering your time, our students enjoy the opportunity to shop and they wouldn't be able to do it without volunteers like you!
If the sign up is full, but you still want to come, please do. We can always use an extra hand! If you have any questions please email CopelandSpiritCart@gmail.com.

Log your Volunteer Hours to get more money for our school!
Working for our kids as a volunteer is both rewarding and important. Please log your volunteer hours in our Raptor Portal. The more volunteer hours we log the more money we get from the state.
CFISD has provided an online program to make it easier on volunteers to log and track their
volunteer hours. This program is called Raptor, which is part of the V-Soft security software
that helps keep our schools safe.
Copeland does not have logbooks in the front office to record your hours. So, in order to
log your hours, you will need to establish a raptor account. This is quite easy and will allow
you to log your hours at home.
The steps to register online are as follows:
1. Go to https://www.cfisd.net/en/community-involvement/community-engagement/volunteer/# or click on the "New to Raptor" button below.
2. Complete this form in its entirety and submit (you must have an email address to do this)
3. You will receive an email from support@raptorware.com with your account information and password.
4. Once you receive the email use the button below to log in to your account.
5. Add this website to your favorites (this is where you will log hours)
6. Log in with email and password
7. Select campus
8. Select the tabs you will need
This program will be used to determine volunteer of the month and reporting our total volunteer hours to the district, enabling them to apply for various grants and programs.
