Thank You!

It was wonderful to meet so many of you at our "Meet the Principal" breakfast. It means so much that you took time away from your busy schedules to be there. I'm looking forward to more opportunities like this to get to know all of you, and to work with you to provide our students with the excellence in education they all deserve.

Thank You Brownstone Book Fund

Our school library has just received a gift of 100 beautiful diverse books! These books were a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City, focused on fostering early reading, a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together. These special titles were selected by the Rhode Island school librarians and very much appreciated.

Kid's Heart Challenge

Monday was the start of this wonderful program, and all families should have received necessary information from Mr. Bello. This challenge will go on until April 8th, and there are exciting rewards involved!

Have you heard that your child could win a chance to be Principal for a day?

More importantly than earning rewards, your child will impact kids with special hearts and raise funds for the health of all hearts. They'll also get moving with fun activities, learn about keeping their hearts and minds healthy and the power of kindness!

SurveyWorks

SurveyWorks began on Tuesday, January 18th. It is important for all of us to participate by answering the SurveyWorks questions, because our answers provide meaningful feedback on how to improve Rhode Island Schools.

This is the family link bit.ly/ridefamily and it will ask you to choose our school from the drop down menu. Show us your proof of completion page either by a screenshot sent to caroline.crudale@npsd.k12.ri.us or photocopied page brought to school to be entered into a raffle to win a gift card to Market Basket.

Thank you so much Ms. Crudale for organizing and taking the lead on this!

PBIS

We have been focusing on perseverance all month. Our students participated in many activities to support grades 3-5 as they prepare for and take the RICAS/RI and NGSA assessments. Mrs. Creamer created a beautiful virtual library which was shared with all teachers in the Teaching & Learning edition of The Greystone Glance. Above are a few of my favorite children's books about perseverance.

Quote of the Week

"Your vibe attracts your tribe."

No matter how self-sufficient we all believe we are, the truth is we need a good support system. We need each other. We all could use more friendships, support, inspiration, compassion, and kindness. The people we surround ourselves with have the power to uplift and inspire us. Choose the people around you that challenge you. They ignite your spirit and help you to grow. Think about the people you know who could be positive influences in your life. Spend more time with them. As you surround yourself with positive, supportive, and energetic people, your vibe will resonate into your classroom. Your students will feel the energy too. That makes it all worth it.
