Pioneer Venus 1

Pioneer Venus 1 Launched at 20th of May 1978,and went 75 km at Venus. It was confirmed that Venus has little magnetic fields and found the clouds to consist mainly of sulphuric acid in it's successful mission.


The Pioneer Venus project called for two spacecraft to explore the atmosphere and surface of Venus. Pioneer Venus 1 was designed to make a radar map of Venus's surface during an eight month mission.
