The Barry & PCMS Solo/Ensemble Festival will be held at Platte City Middle School on Wednesday, March 13th. This showcases middle school band students and their work outside of class to learn a new piece of classical music. Students can perform a solo by themselves or a small ensemble consisting of 2-5 students on similar instruments. There are 80 student participating from both schools combined in over 70 events. This is the third year of the festival, having growth in participation each year.
If your student is participating in the event, you should have received an email from Miss Rolls with your student’s performance location and times. If you did not receive an email but your student has registered and paid for the event, please contact Miss Rolls at rollsa@platteco.k12.mo.us.
There will not be district transportation provided for this event, so students will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the event. Please arrive at PCMS at least 20 minutes before your performance time to ensure enough time to warm up and prepare for your performance.

The reciting of historical documents was a success! The kids did a great job, and I enjoyed their enthusiasm and encouragement they gave to each other!
We have concluded our unit over the U.S. Government. We will begin work on Chapters 9 and 10 of the textbook. These chapters will cover the first presidency, the political parties and disputes of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson and a little bit of western expansion.
