Hello Boggess Families,
What a great week we have had at Boggess! Students have been busy learning and having fun with peers.
Thank you so much to the Girls Scouts Troop 5806 for providing the Boggess staff with cookies. Your kindness and generosity was greatly appreciated. Please see photo of the Girls Scouts below.
Congratulations to Nimrah M. (5th grade) and Brooks N. (first grade) for their phenomenal art work. Their artwork will be on exhibit at the Robinson Fine Arts center. We are so proud that your work was selected to be on exhibit during Elementary Youth Art Month. See their artwork below.
Spring Picture Day is March 20th. Students will take individual and class photos. Thank you for supporting our school fundraiser when you order pictures. See details and link below.
Spring Break is Monday, March 6th - 13th. There is no school Monday, March 13th. It is a Teacher Work Day. We will welcome students back on Tuesday, March 14th!

News from the Art Room
Nimrah M. (5th) and Brooks N. (1st) will be representing Boggess Elementary School in the Elementary Youth Art Month celebration for Plano Independent School District.
The student art exhibit will be on view to the public from March 1st through March 23rd at the Robinson Fine Arts Center. RFAC is located at 1800 Alma Drive, Plano 75075. The exhibit can be viewed weekdays, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
2021-2022 School Report Cards
The 2021-2022 School Report Cards for Boggess Elementary has now been released, and posted to the Boggess Elementary website www.pisd.edu/boggess_ar The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures. The information contained in the School Report Card is described in the “School Report Card Definitions.” The Federal Report Card is also available at https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/accountability/academic-accountability/performance-reporting/federal-report-cards.

Picture Day is March 20th
Picture day for spring casual pictures and class group pictures will be on Monday, March 20th. Order forms were sent home with students.. Order and pay online at myschoolpicture.com. Class group pictures must be pre-ordered.

STUCO and I are SO excited to announce that we are partnering with HEB to collect plastic bags from March 13-April 14th!! The collection box will be arriving soon from HEB and it will be near the library. ANY plastic shopping bags are welcome. 🙂 I know we all probably have a lot, so let's do some good!
Please remember that a student with any of the following symptoms will be excluded from school until such time as the student is free of symptoms, has been satisfactorily treated, or submits a signed physician’s statement that he/she is not contagious.

- Temperature of 100.0 degrees or more. Student must be fever free for 24 hours, without medication, before re-entry.
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Student must be symptom free for 24 hours without medication before re-entry.
- Pain and/or swelling at angle of jaw.
- Undetermined rash over any part of the body.
- Undiagnosed scaly patches on the body or scalp.
- Red, draining eyes.
- Intense itching with signs and symptoms of secondary infection.
- Open, draining lesions.
- Jaundice
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren – Parent Education and Engagement Series Begins February 8
Join the Plano ISD Parent Education & Engagement Program (PEEP) for a series of weekly sessions designed for grandparents titled “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.” Classes will be held at the Bird Education Center (1300 19th St, Plano, TX 75074), on Thursdays beginning February 8 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. For more information about this session and other PEEP opportunities, please contact the Parent Education and Engagement Team at 469-752-2252 or peep@pisd.edu. Volunteers
We love our volunteers at Boggess. All volunteers will need to create an account and complete an application, online orientation and background check through the Plano ISD volunteer management system, VOLY, to be eligible for district/school volunteer opportunities. Please visit plano.voly.org to create a volunteer account and begin this process. These items will need to be completed by volunteers each school year.
Teacher & Campus Support Staff Job Fair

This event is for candidates who are interested in becoming a teacher or campus support staff in Plano ISD for the 2023-24 school year. Current Plano ISD employees are not eligible to attend.
In order to be invited to the Teacher & Campus Support Staff Job Fair, the following qualifications must be met:
Teacher candidates must meet the following requirements to register:
Complete an online application with Plano ISD and submit all required documents by the deadline of March 22, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Detailed instructions for completing the online application are below.
Must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
Elementary candidates must be ESL certified, except for art, music, and PE.
All 6-12 grade English teachers must be ESL certified.
Must successfully pass the criminal history/background check as part of the electronic application process.
Campus Support candidates must meet the following requirements to register:

Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and must be willing to apply for a valid Texas Educational Aide certification if hired.

Registration Information:
Interested candidates are required to register by the deadline of March 22, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Specific instructions must be followed when completing the online application and eligibility requirements must be met before receiving an email invitation to the job fair. Your registration is complete when the PISD employment application has been received by the deadline according to the specifications linked below. Eligible applicants who meet the registration requirements will be emailed an invitation to the Plano ISD Teacher & Campus Support Job Fair once their employment application has been reviewed.

Email invitations for the job fair will be sent once weekly from pisdjobfair@pisd.edu. Depending on the date your application is received it may be up to 2 weeks before you receive your invitation. Applications/registrations received the week of the job fair will be processed on a daily basis.
Application status information will be shared via email. These notifications are not compatible with Yahoo email addresses. In your application, please provide a non-Yahoo email address that you check regularly.
