Prayers for Gratitude

Big picture

As we approach our annual celebration of Thanksgiving, we should take time to renew our practice of offering gratitude to God for our many blessings. Sometimes it can be difficult to offer gratitude in our prayer. The prayer resources below may help you renew that spirit of gratitude in your own heart as well as the hearts of those around you.

Ways to Remember & Pray for Departed Souls

In the month of November, we remember and pray for those that are deceased. There are many ways to pray for the deceased. One way is to pray the Office of the Dead. You can find recordings of the Office of the Dead below. There are other ideas for entering into this special month here.

The next one of these will take place Sunday, November 21, 2021, in every diocese and community around the world, including at the Vatican with the Holy Father. To support that celebration, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has published "A Resource Guidebook for Pastoral Leaders" and other resources available here.

Franciscan Discipleship Quads

Discipleship Quads | Franciscan University of Steubenville

A Discipleship Quad is a group of four men or four women who journey together as disciples through weekly gatherings of fellowship, ongoing conversion, and learning. This 12-month path of accompaniment fosters growth through prayer, accountability, and authentic relationships. This is a great way to start young adult ministry or breath some new life into a young adult ministry that is already established. The best part is all Discipleship Quad resources are available free of charge. To learn more about starting a Discipleship Quad with the young adults in your parish, click the button below.
