Conversation with the Catholic Apostolate Center Recording
On October 27, young adult ministry leaders had an engaging conversation with young adult ministry consultants from the Catholic Apostolate Center on the landscape of young adults, the Church’s vision for young adults/young adult ministry, the Keys to building healthy, holy, and sustainable young adult ministry and next steps to accompanying young adults. If you were not able to be a part of the conversation, click the video above to watch the recording.
Prayers for Gratitude
As we approach our annual celebration of Thanksgiving, we should take time to renew our practice of offering gratitude to God for our many blessings. Sometimes it can be difficult to offer gratitude in our prayer. The prayer resources below may help you renew that spirit of gratitude in your own heart as well as the hearts of those around you.
Game for Gatherings
God gave us the gift of laughter! As we gather for Thanksgiving, even if those gatherings still look a little different, the Catholic Card Game is a great way to share the gift of laughter with those around you. Designers of The Catholic Card Game have partnered with Ascension to create a special expansion pack of 54 cards related to your favorite Ascension personalities. To learn more about the expansion pack, click here. To get more information about the game itself, click here.
Ways to Remember & Pray for Departed Souls
In the month of November, we remember and pray for those that are deceased. There are many ways to pray for the deceased. One way is to pray the Office of the Dead. The Office for the Dead is a prayer cycle of the Liturgy of the Hours in the Catholic Church, said for the repose of the soul of a deceased individual or individuals. You can find recordings of the Office of the Dead below. There are other ideas for entering into this special month here.
The Annual Global Celebration of Youth and Young Adults
The Global Celebration of Youth and Young Adults takes place annually on the Solemnity of Christ the King. The next one of these will take place Sunday, November 21, 2021, in every diocese and community around the world, including at the Vatican with the Holy Father. To support that celebration, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has published "A Resource Guidebook for Pastoral Leaders" and other resources available here.
Franciscan Discipleship Quads
A Discipleship Quad is a group of four men or four women who journey together as disciples through weekly gatherings of fellowship, ongoing conversion, and learning. This 12-month path of accompaniment fosters growth through prayer, accountability, and authentic relationships. This is a great way to start young adult ministry or breath some new life into a young adult ministry that is already established. The best part is all Discipleship Quad resources are available free of charge. To learn more about starting a Discipleship Quad with the young adults in your parish, click the button below.
