the Kaufman Chronicles
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE at Upton and Northwood
10/1/2015
Hello! My name is Carly Kaufman and I am the new speech and language pathologist at Upton and Northwood Elementary. I have my bachelors in elementary education with a teaching certificate from Michigan State University and my masters in speech and language pathology from Wayne State University.
I have loved getting to know your children and cannot wait to work with them more this year!
Parent Communication
Why the Kaufman Chronicles?
Parent communication is very important to me. I am starting the Kaufman Chronicles as a way of keeping you updated on what's happening in the speech room as well as sharing speech and language related resources/articles/homework material for you and your child.
So far, we have been playing some "getting to know you" games and have decorated goal sheets so that each child knows what he/she is working on in my room. :) We are beginning a drill/play model to reach each child's specific goals.
I will start you off with a very important resource. The buttons below will direct you to the American Speech and Language Hearing Association's (ASHA) website- or specifically to a page about developmental norms. Please explore!
Speech and Language Developmental Norms
These speech and language developmental norms are provided by ASHA, the American Speech and Language Hearing Association.
