Cameroon Catholic Community

February 21, 2106 is going to be “Elections Sunday”. This will be a very special occasion for our community as we gather to elect a Pastoral Committee that will help guide our CCC community to the next level.
Since 2008 when the Cameroon Catholic Community was founded by Fr Henry Atem, the same small team of volunteers has organized and ensured the smooth running of this community’s events: Monthly Masses and Meet and Greets, Harvest Thanksgiving, Christmas party, Cameroon Day of Prayer, etc. These are volunteers who have not really been answerable to the community as such. This election will change that. We will elect a group of people that will be responsible to the Cameroon community and not just to Fr Henry alone.
On the other hand, Fr Henry has repeatedly indicated that he is more and more overwhelmed and overburdened with the many responsibilities that he has taken on in his parish, the ArchDiocese and even nationally.
There is no question that CCC’s value for our kids and families in this community is priceless. Yet this beautiful community yearns to grow and get better. This calls for all of us to join hands and get involved to secure that the CCC community continues to be a better place for us, our children and our future. This is such a good thing that we must do everything to keep it growing and moving forward.
What do we want the CCC to become? What should it look like? Where do we want to be in 5 years, 10 years? Is once-a-month mass service enough for us? So many questions that we can answer by getting involved and taking control and management of our own affairs.
In preparation for the vote, we strongly encourage you right now to nominate yourself by sending an email to Fada Henry’s email address: email@example.com
Roles on CCC Pastoral Committee are:
Altar Server Coordinator
Meet and Greet Coordinator
Let’s all come out in our numbers to Church on February 21, 2016 to make this important decision for our community. This election is for us all. We all need to elect the right people for our Community. We need a Pastoral Committee that reflects our values, dreams and aspirations. We need to feel comfortable that the people we pick will truly represent us and take us to the next level. Looking forward to it with great anticipation.
