Message from the Principal

Hello Prairie Friends and Families,

As we navigate the uncertainty that has come along with the 20-21 school year, we're taking the time as a team to be mindful about what we are grateful for. November is a great month to share the things that we're grateful for with others!

I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to be greeted by smiling children each morning - even if their smiles are tucked behind their masks. I'm thankful that our Prairie Pumas are strong, resilient, compassionate, empathetic learners who I know are going to impact the world in positive ways. I grow as a result of my interactions with our learners every single day. Thank you!

I'm thankful for our team of educators. I'm sure you already know this, but they are some of the most dedicated, talented, caring educators around. I'm grateful that this team is able to turn challenges into opportunities. Thank you!

I'm thankful for our Prairie community. You all... our parents and guardians... are incredibly supportive of our team of educators and of our learners. We are able to ensure that our learners feel a sense of belonging and are able to flourish because you support our efforts. I'm grateful that our learners go home to loving households every afternoon. Thank you!

I hope that our entire Prairie community is able to enjoy this long weekend. We look forward to welcoming our learners back on Monday morning. Stay safe!

We are Team Prairie!

We are stronger together!

Carly Solberg

Cards for a Cause Fundraiser - Please remember that our fundraiser is still ongoing. Orders are due on Monday, November 30th.

All students and staff are invited to help raise money for the Prairie PTA by selling boxes of beautifully embellished greeting cards. Card boxes sell for $30 each with the PTA receiving $13 from each box sold! There are 5 box styles available containing 30 or 50 cards. These boxes are a great value! They are so convenient to have on hand when special occasions pop up and they also make fantastic gifts!

Sale will run through Monday, November 30. All order forms and payments need to be returned to Prairie by this day.

There are two ways to collect orders:

1. Use a printed order form and collect payments by cash or check. A copy of this order form has been sent home with in-person students. Virtual students can access a pdf of the order form here:

2. Provide this online order link to your family and friends:

They can either pay online by credit card or provide a check to you.

Checks should be made payable to Prairie PTA.

Prizes up for grabs!

Any student of staff member who sells at least 10 boxes will be eligible to win a $50 VISA gift card or a $25 VISA gift card!

Early Pick Up for Students

If you need to pick up your student early for any reason or for appointments during the day, please come in to the lobby and buzz the office. We will call your child down at that point and sign them out from the office. It is helpful to email the teacher and Mrs. Anderson of expected times so we can try to have them ready to leave.

Dropping off Supplies

We have a new procedure in place if you need to drop off student materials during the day (lunch, homework, jackets, iPads, etc). The outside door to the lobby of the school is open. There are "drop off tickets" on the table inside the door. Please complete your child's name, grade/teacher, and the item being delivered with any special instructions. We will deliver it to the classroom just as soon as we can. Thank you for your support.

Please make sure to complete your Annual Online Registration in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
