A Note From Ms. Frehner

Happy December!

November checkpoints have all been graded and returned. If you have not received your scored checkpoint, please let me know. I may have overlooked your kmail. There will be NO December Checkpoint. Your next checkpoint will be assigned in January when we return from Winter Break.

Tutoring hours this Friday will be held during their normal time. I will have tutoring groups from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. If you feel like you could benefit from a reading or math group, please let me know. I will be available for open tutoring from 3:00-4:00. I would love to see more of you take advantage of this FREE tutoring opportunity. If you receive a group tutoring kmail from me, I strongly urge you to attend. If you are interested in my open tutoring hour, please RSVP HERE.

During the month of December, students who complete one lesson in every subject each day will be entered for a raffle drawing.
  • Mondays' Raffles: Movie Ticket Monday (movie gift card)
  • Tuesdays' Raffles: iTunes Tuesday (iTunes gift card)
  • Wednesdays' Raffles: When Do We Eat? Wednesday (restaurant gift cards)
  • Thursdays' Raffles: Theme Park Thursday (local theme park pass)
  • Fridays' Raffles: Fantastic Friday (a tablet)

Winter Break will be December 22nd through January 2nd. During Winter Break, NVVA will be holding two 2-Day Camps that will be devoted to math and literacy for students in 3rd through 8th grade. Be looking out in your kmail for more information and how to sign up if you're interested in attending.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to chat, please kmail me or give me a call at (702) 407-1825 x7055.

Make it a great week!

Typing Resource

It is SO incredibly important that you are learning how to type correctly, especially with the SBAC coming up this year (which is computer based and will require a strong typing foundation). I have found a pretty good website that teaches typing skills and is FREE!

Check out TypingWeb.com, and sign up for a free account to keep track of your typing progress.
