Updates from Katie

Dear Gators,

Happy Sunday Gator Families. It was a beautiful weekend, I hope you enjoyed some outside time and made some memories! Our Gator community suffered a great loss last week. Our night custodian Max passed away over the weekend. Max was a kind, hard working, and gentle person, he will be missed on campus. Our thoughts are with his family.

This week we have Coffee with Koontz on Tuesday morning, 9 am ( this is a time change) please feel free to join this agenda-free conversation- bring your questions and I will do my best to answer them for you.

Remember to take time to fuel your soul everyday!

Have a great week

Valentine's Day

In an effort to keep as much normalcy as possible for our Gators we are going to continue our Valentine exchange opportunity for students. If your child wants to give out cards this year please bring them to school on FRIDAY JANUARY 29, Material pick up day.

Please do not put specific names on cards or packages but do ensure you have enough for every child in your class. Cards should be in a sealed bag and placed in the available box at pick up day.

Staff and volunteers will distribute cards in student bags and will be available to pick up on Friday, February 11.

Cards not picked up on February 11, will be in the February 26 materials bag.

Student Attendance 2020/2021

This is a reminder on attendance for students during distance learning of the criteria set by the District:

A - not engaged, no zoom interaction participation, unexcused

P - participate on zoom any interaction during class time

4 - online activity, no zoom but worked on classwork and handed in day due

3 - parent/guardian made contact direct to teacher or office regarding internet or other issues

E - Doctor/Dentist appointment or other excused absence i.e. immediate family funeral

L - illness as called in by parent/guardian to office/teacher

Note: Student travel even if notifying office is considered "A" which translates to unexcused. This serves as a reminder that although school is distance learning, the District is counting attendance with the State. Student families have 72 hours to verify an absence and need to contact the office. Lisa's email or call 925-827-3770.

It is important for all student families to have a HomeLink account set up especially with distance learning this year. This is how the district office distributes information regarding students. All families without existing accounts were sent their homelink login information via USPS in October. Your letter has instructions on how to create your account. You can also Click here to begin!
