MEET THE FAMILY
What is a quadrilateral? Simply It just means four sides. (quad means four, lateral means sides) It has four sides, four vertices, and the interior angle sum adds up to 360.
SQUARE
A square has congruent sides and all four angles are right angles, 90 degress; this makes it equilateral and equiangular. Because of its definition, every square is also a rectangle, rhombus, and a parallelogram.
RECTANGLE
A rectangle has four right angles as well. It also has opposite sides that are parallel and congruent.
PARALLELOGRAM
A parallelogram has opposite sides that are parallel and congruent in length. Opposite angles are congruent also.
RHOMBUS
A rhombus has 4 congruent sides. All opposite sides are parallel and opposite angles are equal in length. Every rhombus is a parallelogram.
TRAPEZOID
A trapezoid has exactly one pair of parallel sides. The parallel sides are called he bases and the other sides are called the legs.
ISOSCELES TRAPEZOID
An isosceles trapezoid has congruent legs and parallel bases.
KITE
A kite has two pairs of congruent adjacent sides. The angles are equal where the pairs meet.
