On Behalf of Teachers and Staff
Meet Mrs. Kussy, Assisting Principal
I have called Hamilton Southeastern home for 20 years. In 2003, I opened Brooks School Elementary as a second grade teacher. Over the years I transitioned to third grade and then as the Teacher Librarian for the last four years. I was named Hamilton Southeastern 2019 Teacher of the Year and a Top Ten Finalist for the Indiana Teacher of the Year. I have been fortunate to inspire and empower hundreds of lives and will continue to do so. My husband and I are parents of six boys who keep us smiling, laughing, and enjoying life together. I am honored to be a part of Geist Elementary and to partner with Mrs. Laffey to support students, staff, and families in these final weeks of the 2020-2021 school year.

What is your favorite cereal? Share it with others!!
GES Student Council is partnering with the Fishers Youth Assistance Program to host a cereal drive. During the week of May 10-14, Geist students will be collecting full sized boxes of cereal. These boxes of cereal will be donated to the Fishers Youth Assistance Program's Summer Meals to help supply Fishers families with food assistance over the summer. Please help us by sending in unopened, full-sized boxes of cereal during the week of May 10!

Your Child's Medication in the GES Clinic
If your child has medication in the school clinic arrangements must be made for the transport of this medication home, as student medications cannot be stored at school over summer break. According to Indiana Code, a school may send home medication with a student if a parent provides written permission for the student to receive the medication.
Please download a copy of the permission form below to send medication home with the student. Return the completed form to the school nurse as soon as possible.
Keller's Clips
Geist Elementary is a Grief-Sensitive School and wishes to support any student or family going through the grieving process. With Mother's Day approaching, I wanted to share with you a resource from New York Life's Grief-Sensitive Schools Initiative.
