Discipline
As the school year is progressing, we will be requesting parent conferences along with requests being made by parents to meet. The first article below discusses just how to handle parent concerns. The best thing to remember is start positive and move towards the point of the meeting. The second article is an easy read where a teacher discusses her PBL failure and why? Just another opportunity to keep us reflective about PBL and student engagement.

Technology
A grade book spot checked on Friday revealed that we still have teachers who haven’t properly set up their STI gradebook. Once I take a look every teacher’s gradebook, I will meet individually with those that I found mistakes. Also, remember to post grades weekly.
Safety
On Friday when I came to a few rooms the magnetic strip wasn’t being used. The magnetic strips over the key latch area during the day and keeping your door locked is a requirement of HCS Safety plan so please lock your door and properly place the magnetic strip. I know one of the issues is the door doesn’t stay closed. Just know this bothers me, too.
If your strip has been misplaced let me know as soon as possible so I can get you a new one.
