A Christmas Carol
The play A Christmas Carol was intriguing and interesting because of their use of special effects, set design and adding in new characters into the play to make the story by Charles Dickens more interesting. Firstly, the special effects made all of the magic that was stated in the novel come to life. The lighting set the mood, golden light for a warm, happy feeling and blue for sad. The smoke machines gave us a jolt when the spirits appeared. In addition, the set was very impressive, it made you feel like you were in a city of that era, the floor on the stage looked like a cobblestone road. Scrooges home looked like a real house, the props on the interior gave it the attributes of a real home. Lastly, they added new characters into the play that were not in the original story. For example, Merriwether was Scrooges housekeeper and cook, she made the play much more humorous. In conclusion, A Christmas Carol is something that everybody will enjoy, it is intriguing and has very detailed set pieces, special effects that make the story come to life and interesting new characters.

Sacrifices Made
Mr. Scrooge had to sacrifice his selfish and greedy ways, he had to become a more generous person, so he wouldn't die alone and be sad for the rest of his life like the ghosts stated. One of the sacrifices I had to make in my life was that I had to sacrifice my normal ways of life when I went to Ecuador for a month to live with my grand parents, I did things differently there than I normally would, so it was hard for me.
