A Message from Mrs. Garrison
I hope your first week of school at home was fantastic! I want to thank the families that did the morning announcements from their homes. It was definitely the highlight of our week! Another big thank you to those that participated in the Bear Hunt. We loved seeing pictures of your children and family. At our house this week there were cheers, tears, internet outages, and a flying football (we have a new rule about this) but thankfully we all survived!
WHAT'S NEW
We are adding three new activities to our schedule this week, Happy Hump Day on Wednesday, Freaky Science Friday, a partnership with Barbara Bush Elementary, and a Weekend Warrior series hosted by our Specials Team on Saturday. We are also adding a little twist to Friday Spirit Day. Follow us on Facebook for more details!
INSTRUCTION
I want to again stress that our new normal is going to take some time to adjust to. All of our lessons and district resources are listed below. Just do the best you can and reach out to our teachers and staff for help. If all else fails, JUST READ!
ONLINE TEXTBOOKS
Your child has access to our online textbooks through the CISD SSO. When your child is logged in to the SSO, the textbooks will show up as icons (Stemscopes, Pearson, etc). Log in to the SSO by going to the CISD Homepage and clicking on CISD SSO in the top right hand corner. If your child does not know their log in information, please email your child's teacher for assistance.
GRADES AND REPORT CARDS
Electronic report cards are available for 1st through 4th grade students for the third grading period. Please log in to your PAC account to view your child's grades. If you need to sign up for a PAC (Parent Access Center) account, please click here. If you need assistance, contact Aimee Irby at airby@conroeisd.net. PreK and Kindergarten report cards will be mailed to your home this week.
Stay safe and give your child a big hug from us. We miss them!
Lisa

I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! I want to share a book written by Julia Cook titled “The Yucky Bug” with our Powell Panthers. It’s a cute children’s book about COVID-19 and ways to stay healthy. The Yucky Bug
Julia Cook talks about the magic five. A fun activity would be to have your child draw the yucky bug, then illustrate one of the magic five rules to stay safe from the virus. If your child has time for the activity, I would love for you to email their picture to me at snixon@conroeisd.net.
We are definitely swimming in uncharted waters right now. Please let me know if you need any resources as we navigate through our current situation.
