Sunday Message
Week of 8/26/19
The first full week of school went well. Our students are all getting used to their new routines and building positive relationships. It has been great seeing the kids again and meeting many new students to our school.
We have a fairly quiet week ahead of us, but things will begin ramping up soon.
I want to thank everyone for being patient during our drop off and pick up times. The safety of our students and families is our number one concern. Please take a minute to review our pick-up and drop-off procedures included below.
Thanks for reading!
Your proud principal,
Mr. Middleton

Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures
Teachers and staff members are on supervision duty beginning at 7:55 AM. Please do not have students arrive before that time. When students arrive, they are to head out to the playground until the morning bell rings at 8:10. Backpacks can be dropped off at the designated location for lining up. Since there is no supervision in the clusters, students need to stay on the playground prior to the start of school. At the end of the day, we ask parents to refrain from entering the campus prior to 2:40.
Traffic only flows one way in the parking lots in front of school and near the park with both parking lots exiting at the same location. With regards to the Eastridge entrance to the school, we are asking everyone to obey the posted green sign and refrain from turning right directly out of our parking lot during the hours of 7:30-8:15 AM and 2:30-3:15 PM as this poses a direct risk to our students and crossing guard. If you need to turn right, please go straight through Eastridge, then turn right on Letterkenny Drive. Letterkenny will exit out onto Eastridge just east of the school utilizing Bradborne Drive. Please drive carefully and slowly down our neighboring streets out of consideration and safety for our neighbors and children!
The area in front of the Multipurpose room is a red curb “Fire Lane”. Please refrain from parking in these and other red curb areas at all times. Also, please keep the green loading zone in front of school open during the hours of 7:45-8:15 AM and 2:30-3:00 PM for any service trucks, delivery vehicles, and students or visitors with disabilities that may be stopping in at that time. If seen there, you will be respectfully asked to move your vehicle. The green loading zone remains open for loading and unloading of students and items during all other times.
For walkers or bike riders, the entrance at the Arroyo Madrone cul-de-sac adjacent to our school will be open as well. Please note that during pick-up and drop-off times, the Arroyo Madrone entrance is not for dropping off or picking up students by car, but rather for walkers and bike riders only. Parents must drop-off or pick up their children at the corner of Arroyo Madrone and Briarton as it is a much easier location from which to get in and out and does not cause traffic congestion for back gate neighbors.
Choir is Coming
Choir will start September 9th with Mrs. Gale! This year choir will be held during all Early Release Mondays from 1:45-2:50 pm. We will be meeting on the stage in the Multi.
If interested, please fill out and return the choir sign-up form to Mrs. Gale or the office. Choir sign-up forms need to be in by Friday, August 30st. I am only able to take 60 students, so 4th and 5th graders will be placed first as long as their forms are in by August 30st. Interested 3rd grade students will be placed “first come-first serve” so get those sign-up forms turned in!

A doctor’s note is asked for all medical appointments where the student misses school time or 3 or more consecutive illness days.
Proof of Residency
Proof of Residency Due By 9/30/19
Every year, we ask our families to submit Proof of Residency. This gives us the opportunity to ensure we have your current address and live within the Twelve Bridges Elementary School boundaries. If you ae residing outside of these boundaries, this gives us the opportunity to make sure we have the proper transfer paper work on file. Proper Proof of Residency is a current utility bill (dated August or September 2019). If you are residing with another family, you must provide a McKinney-Vento Homeless Declaration Form (this form is available in the office).
You may submit this by:
· Dropping a copy off in the office (please note the name of your child(ren) on the copy)
· Email copy to kreilly@wpusd.org (please note the name of your child(ren) in the message)
Thank you for your timely response.

A Message from the Lincoln Police Department Regarding Golf Carts
Hello Twelve Bridges Parents and Residents. Recently more and more children have been dropped off and picked up from school in golf carts/ NEV’s. This is a reminder of the rules and regulation regarding those vehicles.
1. All operators of a NEV/ golf cart on a city street must 16 years of age or older with valid license and insurance.
2. Unregistered Golf Carts are not allowed on any surface/ residential streets in Twelve Bridges. The only exempt area is Sun City because they have a approved Golf Cart Transportation Plan.
3. All rules and regulations of the roadway must be followed such as seat belts, child seats, stop signs, ect. You must treat the NEV/ Golf Cart as a standard motor vehicle when it is being operated.
The attached link and chart has all the necessary information regarding the rules and regulations for these type of vehicles. If the regulations are not being followed operators can be cited. This issue has come to attention due to multiple children being spotted hanging off the rear of golf carts while being driven, not being properly seat belted or restrained, driving on sidewalks, driving against traffic and even some parents allowing young children to drive the golf carts on the roadway. These are all huge safety concerns that need to be addressed along with the legal aspects of operating these vehicles on public streets.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Lincoln PD.
