Monthly Theme: Spring is in the Air!
A message from Holly Bevilacqua, COO
Hello and Happy Spring to all! It is so nice to know that we have some sunshine and warmer weather just around the corner.
As spring flowers begin to bloom and changes to the new season come into view, we are very excited to swing into spring with some exciting programs and educational activities for your children. Our Monthly theme is Spring is in the Air! The children will explore Flowers, Weather, Butterflies and Caterpillars, Our Earth, and a Rainbow of colors. We are excited to have CT music in again this month as we explore music in a variety of ways!
Our website is being updated monthly with Director’s News, Special events, employment opportunities, and PTO news. Check it out! We’ve been working on many improvements in our programs and thank all of our families and staff for their input! Make sure to submit an answer to our question of the month. This is one of the many ways we get our families and
staff to give their input!
Don't miss all the exciting events during the week of the young child! It's Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday and Family Friday! I am very excited to welcome all of you to our classrooms on Friday April 12th for PM snack as our classrooms plan a Holiday Celebration and Ice Cream Social!
You may have noticed that our staff and children have access to iphones, tablets, and computers in the classrooms. Our staff are able to do lesson planning, take photos and videos for child assessments as well as for communication to our families. It is amazing how much we can use technology for while working and teaching our children. We are currently looking into digital daily reports and have a few programs being piloted in our centers.

If you have any changes to you address, phone number or employment, please stop by the office and fill out a new emergency form for your child.
Please remember that our KILLINGLY parking lot is one way! It is important to watch your speed in the parking lot, and pay attention while driving through the parking lot, as you never know when a little one might run out.
Our family referral program is a great way to earn tuition credits while sharing our wonderful centers and clubhouse program with family and friends. Ask your site manager how you can earn tuition credits!
Please make sure that you label all items that come into the center. Especially lunch items!
Please remember that we are not allowed to prep food for any meals. Please send in items for your children ready to be served. We are able to heat items in the microwave as long as they are ready to heat.
In hopes that the warmer weather will arrive soon, please remember our policy on open toe shoes/sandals. Due to safety concerns, open toe sandals, jellies, or flip flops should not be worn. Please make sure shoes protect their feet and are safe for the playground.

The East Lyme Center is anxiously awaiting their visit from NAEYC. The National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC) is the largest nonprofit association in the United States representing early childhood education. They have established an accreditation system that sets professional standards for high quality programs for young children.
NAEYC has established ten standards of excellence for early childhood education that involve children, teachers, family and community partners, and program administration. Programs that meet these standards are recognized for providing a safe and healthy environment for children, and having teachers that are well trained, have access to excellent teaching materials, and work with a curriculum that is appropriately challenging and developmentally sound for young children. NAEYC accredited childcare programs enrich the childcare experience for children and their families. An accredited center is one that is recognized as providing exceptional care and a variety of educational, developmental, and personal services that ease the burden of working parents.
