Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun
Welcome to Japan, its nicknamed the land of the rising sun. Japan is called that because the Japan means sun-origin. Japan is an archipelago made up of 6,852 small islands. The four largest islands are Honshu, Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Kyushu they are approximately 97% of Japans population area.
Japan has the 10th largest world population with over 126 million people. Honshu's Greater Tokyo area, is the largest metropolitan area in the world, with over thirty million people.

Electric City
Akihabara, or more known as Electric City got its nickname after World War 2 for being a major shopping center for electric goods. It is now considered to be an otaku cultural center and shopping district for anime, video games, and manga.
Tokyo Tower
Tokyo tower is located in Japan, and is a communication and observant tower. At 333 meters tall it is the second tallest structure in Japan. Built in 1958, the towers main reason is tourism.
Jigokudani Monkey Park
Jigokudani Monkey Park is located in Yamanouchie, Japan and is located in a valley of the Yokoyu-River. The name Jigokudani, meaning "Hell's Valley" is due to the steam and boiling water that bubbles out of the cracks in the frozen ground. Its famous for the large population of Snow Monkeys; that go to the valley for the winter and bathe in the hot springs.
Golden Pavilion
The Golden Pavilion is a Zen Temple in northern Kyoto; whose top floors are completely covered in gold leaf. The golden pavilion is an impressive structure built on a pond; it has burned down numbers of times but the present structure was rebuilt in 1955.

Mount Fuji
Located on Honshu Island, is the highest mountain in Japan. It is an active stratovolcano, and last erupted in 1707-08. Mount Fuji is one of Japans "Holy Mountains" along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku. In English it is known as Mount Fuji; but Japanese speakers actually call it Fuji-San.
