The Panther Post

Week of February 1-6, 2016

The Spanish version of The Panther Post is here...

The 2nd quarter ends this week!

We are halfway through the school year! Thank you to all the parents, community members, teachers, administration and staff who have given their time, talents, and donations to our school community!

Aramark has selected Peirce to participate in a student survey - please share and encourage families to have their students participate. This is a really important opportunity for students to have a voice in the ongoing citywide discussions with Aramark regarding the quality of food served to CPS students. Scroll all the way down to Middle Schools to find Peirce. Even if your child isn't in 5th grade or above, please have them fill in the survey. We need all students' participation!

Dear Student,

To help make your school cafeteria a better place to eat, please participate in this confidential survey conducted by Aramark, your school food service provider. Your responses are important to us, your cafeteria manager and staff, and your feedback will be used to help improve your cafeteria food selections and your overall dining experience.

Call for sponsorships for the 2016 Peirce Walk-a-thon

Hello Friends of Peirce Supporters!

On Friday, May 13, 2016, Friends of Peirce (FOP) will host our annual walk-a-thon and sport day at the school to teach our students about the importance of exercise while raising much needed money for our school. All Peirce students participate in this event and are encouraged to obtain pledges to help raise money for their school. The funds raised at this event will go directly to support our growing athletics programs, educational student field trips and stipends for otherwise teacher-funded classroom supplies. As you can expect, Peirce counts on this event and others like it to provide these resources to our students.

To augment this fundraising effort, we are making a concerted effort to partner with our community businesses to help Peirce continue to be a leading school in Chicago.

We are requesting sponsorships in the amount of $275 for placement of a company logo on the back of T-shirts provided to event participants. If you have contacts with local businesses, please discuss this opportunity to support their local public school.

Please contact me for more information, questions, or sponsorship opportunities.
