This Week at Iron City

September 29th, 2015

Note from the Pastor

"And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight; the clouds be rolled back like a scroll. The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul."

These words, written by Horatio Spafford in 1876, sweetly and concisely detail what our greatest hope and joy is: Beholding the face of God in Jesus Christ. Moreover, it is to behold the beauty and majesty of God the Father in eternal bliss. One of my greatest earthly joys is to be counted among those who taste a slice of this on Sunday evenings. My prayer for you is that this eternal hope would have implications for how you live today. Concurrently, my prayer is that the knowledge of Christ's coming might spur you on to righteousness in great joy this week. Always know that you are loved and appreciated!

Cheers,

J. Cook

ASPIRE Movement (Mentoring)

One of the ways ICC looks to increase our missional footprint and influence in our city is by raising up the next generation of leaders through mentoring. If you are interested in being a difference maker in the life of a child, please make plans to join us on October 8th from 6-8pm for training led by the Executive Director of the ASPIRE Movement, Jason Williams.

Contact Jason Cook for more information.

Hospitality Team

Immediate Need: We Are Iron City Dinner, Sunday October 11th.

Renee Lide and Michelle Gaither have temporarily stepped in to fill the role of hospitality team leaders. We need several volunteers in this area, and it's an excellent opportunity for members to begin serving if they aren't serving in other areas. We're hoping to raise up 25 leaders so that there can be a calendar for people to bring treats on a 5-week rotation.

Contact Renee Lide for more information.
