Donuts with Dads

Donuts with Dads was such a wonderful event! I loved seeing all of the students with their Dads (and uncles!). It was precious to watch the children show their Dads everything they worked so hard on - Super Hero Dad stories, colorful neckties, and the dozen reasons why I love you donuts. I am so happy everyone could come out and be honored. Dads are definitely awesome!

Summer Birthdays

If you would like to celebrate your child's summer birthday before end the end of the school year, please let me know! The students would love to celebrate their friend during lunch one day =0)

School Kidz School Supply Orders

Avoid crazy back to school supply shopping and order your child's school supplies from School Kidz! Everything your child needs for a successful 2nd grade year has been hand-picked for you already. Return your order form by May 11th to the front office,

or Visit: and enter Account Number: 95955.

Reading Room Books

This year we have visited the Reading Room every Monday and Thursday after lunch. Students have had the opportunity to check out 2 books of their choice! Since the school year is coming to an end, students will need to return their books soon.

If your child has forgotten which book he/she has out, send me an e-mail and I will let you know the titlesm so hopefully they can be found at home and returned. If they are truly lost, just let me know. There will be no charge. Lost books happen to everyone now and then. We are just thankful that our entire library consists of FSAPS family donations so no one will be penalized!!!

Help the Destination Imagination Team!

Mrs. Millar and her students have come up with a few VERY creative fundraising ideas to raise money to go their Destination Imagination competition. Luckily, we have some super supportive administration members ready and willing to (literally) offer themselves up to help! Send your first grader in with a few dollars next week and they can buy...

  • The chance to spray Mrs. Campbell with a full water gun for just $5
  • A piece of duct tape to attach Mr. Sener to a wall for $1
  • A raffle ticket for the chance to win a basket of goodies for $2
  • The opportunity to splatter paint at the last blast carnival for $5

Coming Up...

Next Monday we will have MAP Testing in the morning, so the afternoon will be spent learning how to write an Autobiography! Students will hopefully have their own autobiographies completed by the end of the second week in May.

In Reading, we will be reviewing the long O and long I sounds. We will also study the prefix un and re.

Spelling: answered, carry, poor, different, unhappy, refill, untie, undo, repay, unkind, undress, retell, reopen, rewind

Students will have the opportunity to practice their spelling words by completing various word activities, however there will be no spelling test next week.

During Social Studies/Science time, students will be working on a super secret and super special project for their Moms!
