Quarter 3 ends on March 26th. To support student success, we have extended online tutoring hours and tailored after-school teacher and community time to best fit the needs of each grade level.
  • Academic Support is available Monday-Thursday from 12:30 - 9:00 PM and on Friday from 12:30 - 3:30.

A Message from PHASTAR

PHASTAR's Safe Space will still be available for students who have already been attending. Unfortunately, city buses are no longer available to provide transportation. We can provide RTA passes to students who need them.

Clubs like Boat Building, Aviation, and Fab Lab, and more have been continuing to meet in limited capacity at PHASTAR throughout this school year. As we look forward to returning to the school building, more opportunities will be available to get involved in these clubs. Reach out to Mr. Smith for more details at dsmith@davisam.org

From Mr. Markusic, our College Now Advisor

SENIOR PARENTS & STUDENTS:

  • Fill out the career goals survey. CMSD is asking seniors to complete a survey regarding your plans after high school. It is super important that you complete this survey, as it will help Mr. McCain, your Crew teachers, the rest of your teachers, and I, in helping you. You can complete that survey here. (I know you're all surveyed-out, but this will really help!)
  • Register for the SWAG Virtual Industry Fair. CMSD is hosting an industry fair that will provide you with information on a number of different career options, as well as in-demand jobs in Cleveland. This is not only for students interested in going into the trades. You must register and you can do so here.
  • Review award letters. If you applied to college and submitted your FAFSA last semester, you should begin to receive financial aid award letters. These will outline the money you have and the money you need. Schedule a time with Mr. Markusic to better understand what your award letter means.
  • Apply for scholarships. Mr. Markusic and Mr. McCain have put together a spreadsheet with links to several scholarships. As more scholarships open, they will be added to the spreadsheet. You can access the spreadsheet here.
  • Research trade & workforce opportunities. If you are not interested in a two- or four-year degree and are instead interested in trade programs, talk to Mr. Markusic.
    • First Energy hosts a Power Systems Institute, during which students can take courses to become a lineworker or substation electrician. Information is in the attached flyer.

Students and/or parents should email Mr. Markusic (mmarkusic@collegenowgc.org) or email or call him (216-507-1768). If any student or parent would like to schedule a time to meet with Mr. Markusic to talk about their student's post-secondary path, they can do so here: www.tinyurl.com/MarkusicDavisAppointments.
