Big picture

Tuesday April 2, 2019

Please DO NOT schedule any Appointments on this day for students. We need all Juniors in attendance for the ACT Test.

We will be testing at the High School this year.

It is a requirement of ACT that students DO NOT Access cell phones even during breaks. All cell phones will be turned in at the start of the day and locked up safely until testing is complete. If you have an emergency and need to get a hold of your child immediately, please contact the school and we will assist you during the emergency.

ACT PREP

In order to prepare for the State Mandated ACT, all students will be enrolled in an ONLINE ACT PREP program. Working with the Schools Curriculum Coordinator and reviewing PRE-ACT data (a test students took last year) students have set goals for their ACT Score.

We want all students to do their best on the ACT.

The State Mandated ACT test for Juniors is April 2 2019.

I am also happy to set up the visit, please contact me with 3-4 dates and at least 2 weeks notice.

Dual Enrollment Courses

Next year Seniors have the opportunity to take Dual Enrollment courses. These are classes that are High School and College Credit courses. They are taught by teachers in our school, or online by other High School Teachers. They are usually at a reduced rate and all Colleges have articulation agreements with the Community Colleges to ensure credits will transfer.

Offerings include:

College Biology

College Composition

College Statistics

College Calculus

Technical Math - for those interested in a trades profession

Technical English-for those interested in a trades profession

College Speech

College Psychology

*We have other options but Northeast has not released their listings yet.

Price is $69.00/credit hour. Most classes are 3 -4 credit hours.

They do fill up quickly ( the online courses- the ones taught in Tekamah-Herman do not fill up), so if your son/daughter wants to take a course in the Spring, registration and payment has to come in early April.

Transition to College Program

Next Fall we will be offering a Transition to College Course. This is a 6 session course that involves students and parents. We have some fun activities planned and some great information to share with all families. More information will be provided next fall. The sessions will be about an hour and fifteen minutes and will help parents and students plan for their next steps after high school.

Senior Year Schedule

Senior Year registration has started. I am sitting down with each individual student to discuss their course choices, credits, GPA and future plans. If you have any questions, please call me or email and I will be happy to assist.
