All students, please listen up… we are halfway through the first quarter so it is time to think about your current grades and efforts and maybe make a change and get help if you are not earning As and Bs. There are MANY ways to get help, so no excuses if you are having trouble in any classes. Many teachers will not accept late work, especially in college classes. Buckle down and make sure your grades are helping you reach your goals.
Juniors who have signed up for the PSAT, please remember to bring your $18 to Ms. Stastny or the front office.
The snack cart WAS back!!! But after inventory yesterday, there were far too many items taken and not paid for. The candy and snacks on the cart are not free – they require a donation of a dollar per item - much cheaper than the vending machine. If you know you need to pay for the items you took yesterday, you can stop by room 129 and settle up. The Debate Team appreciates your support and the cart will be operating in a monitored fashion starting Monday, 9/11.
We have had several students inquiring about Officer Hines whereabouts. No worries he is on a well deserved vacation and will be back Monday Sept. 18th. Thanks to all who have asked or shown concern. He is a vital part of our school and we miss him but wish him a wonderful time.
We have updated our mass communication system/ OneCall (robocalls). You will need to Opt in for texting on the one call notification system. Text the word Alert to 22300

9/11 Heroes' Day
Section 683.335, F.S., was recently created to establish each September 11 as “9/11 Heroes’ Day.” This day honors those who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. It coincides with “Patriot Day,” which is a national day of remembrance for those fallen. All middle and high school students in Florida public schools must receive 45 minutes of instruction every “9/11 Heroes’ Day” on topics including the history and significance of the attacks, remembering the sacrifice of military personnel, government employees, civilians and emergency responders who were killed, wounded or suffered sickness as a result of the attacks.
Each block, students will view a different short video about the events as well as people who survived the attacks and have an opportunity to discuss questions provided by the 9/11 Memorial Museum.

A NOTE FROM MRS. DECKER
It is with great sadness that I’m announcing my (early) retirement from IRSC. Though it was a difficult decision, I have other endeavors that I’m anxious to pursue. My last day at Clark will be Thursday, September 28. I am blessed to have forged so many valuable relationships over the last 8 years. I will miss my daily interaction with the students, parents, and colleagues who have become friends, but don’t worry, I won’t be far and will stay in touch!
