Town of Sunnyvale - Sept. 25, 2021

Sunnyvale holds highest vaccination rate in Dallas County

According to data from Dallas County Health and Human Services, at least 97% of Sunnyvale residents over the age of 18 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine; the highest of any city in Dallas County. CBS 11 interviewed Town Manager Susan Guthrie to find out why. Check out Town Manager Guthrie's interview here.

"When we think about 'what does that even mean'? It means caring about each means coming together as a community and doing what we need to do to protect each other." - Town Manager Susan Guthrie

September is Preparedness Month!

Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation recognizing September 2021 as Preparedness Month in Texas. Coinciding with National Preparedness Month, this month is a time to encourage Texans to develop and practice emergency plans to protect their household and property in the event of an emergency or natural disaster by creating a communication strategy, deciding on an emergency meeting location, building a three-day disaster preparedness kit, and signing up for emergency alerts.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management, which marks its second anniversary as a standalone state agency under the Texas A&M University System, is also highlighting key preparedness topics from every week during the month of September 2021 across social media.

Week 4 - September 19-25; Teach Youth about Preparedness:

Talk to your kids about preparing for emergencies and what to do in case you are separated. Reassure them by providing information about how they can get involved.
