A record player is a device for reproducing sound. Thomas Edison, who also invented the light bulb, invented the record player. The record player was invented in 1877. It is the evolution of the phonograph. Record players back then cost about a deck of cards today.

Similarities

The record player is the same as any other music player because it plays music. You can dance to it. You can listen either when you are having a party or when you are all by yourself and both amuse people of all ages. They both were popular at the time.

Differences

Music players today have, cameras, games, and some have phones. All things that record players don't have. New music players are way easier to transport. You can just put it in your pocket. Music players today you can listen to them anywhere in the car or at the store.
