Aztec Update December 4, 2022

Principal's letter for parents and caregivers

16th week; AHS-GHS Coffee with the Principals Dec 6; main parking lot work Dec 8-10; ASB blanket drive for dogs

Good evening Aztecs

Last week we got ready for the final stretch before finals the week of December 19. Our AVID students returned from their trip to Northern California tired, but inspired. It was a packed schedule with stops in Santa Barbara, San Louis Obispo, Monterrey, San Jose, Santa Clara, San Francisco and Berkeley. We look forward to continuing day trips in the spring for more students. We got great news that one of our IB students, Elias, got accepted into University of Pennsylvania with a Quest bridge scholarship. We are proud of our International Baccalaureate program and the impact that it has on our Aztecs and their future.

Our winter sports teams had a busy week last week. Currently our Aztecs are playing hard in basketball and soccer and getting ready for league competitions that start in January. The athletes appreciate the support. We expect tight competition in league contests this year due to many schools having similar pre-league records at the moment.

This week we hope parents can make it to the Azusa-Gladstone combined coffee with the principals on Dec 6 at 9am at the Azusa Women's Club. We will have music from both schools, tamales and other treats. We look forward to building community between the families from both schools this upcoming week. We hope to see you there

We have 3 more weeks before the end of the semester. We know this time of year can be stressful on students and families. If help is needed, please reach out for assistance.
