Mrs. Veal's Class News
Home of the Thrill Seekers
The Holiday Journal project is due this Wednesday, December 17th!
What's Up?
This week, we began learning about fractions in Math. Specifically, we reviewed finding equivalent fractions and we began to learn about how to add fractions with unlike denominators. Also, we wrapped up our World War 1 unit, and your child has a test over this material Monday, December 15th. We finished researching an animal for our Writing and Classification unit and we will be writing our research paper this week in class. In Reading, our focus is answering questions by using the question in the answer and using the text to support our answer.
Up Next...
This week will be a busy, but productive week. We will work on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators and they will have a quiz over this on Thursday. In Science, we will be reading about invertebrates, and in Social Studies, we will be working on a scrapbook project. We will also have fun using Science inquiry skills to make ornaments.
Your child must have 140 ALEKS concepts completed by January 6th, or they will have to miss recess to stay caught up.
Propaganda
We made propaganda posters encouraging others to be nice.
Hour of Code
