Buckaroo Race
We will be hosting our 10th Annual Buckaroo Race on Friday, October 26, 2018. We hope that you can come and cheer or even run with your child. The race is the only major fundraiser we have for our campus and all money goes to benefit our students. All students will receive a free t-shirt thanks to so many people who helped to sponsor the race. Our students will run in the morning and we have an awards ceremony in the afternoon. It is really a fun day for the entire campus and we hope to see you there!Accelerated Reader
We encourage our students to read by using the Accelerated Reader program. We have thousands of books in our library for student to check out. Students read books on their level and take tests to earn points. Our teachers give out rewards in the classroom to encourage reading and we also give "dog tags" to students when they reach 10, 20, 30, 50, 75, and 100 points. In addition, we have a Mid-Year BLAST and an End of Year BLAST for students who earn the following point requirements.
Mid-Year Blast
Kindergarten-15 points
1st Grade: 40 points
2nd Grade: 55 points
End of Year Blast:
Kindergarten: 30 points
First Grade: 80 points
Second Grade: 110 points
So don't forget to ask your child if they have been reading and taking AR tests!
Perfect Attendance
At the end of each school year, we honor every student with perfect attendance. It is very hard to get perfect attendance for an entire year, especially when flu season is rampant. However, we do have students who reach that goal and they are rewarded for staying well and coming to school every day. This year, we are also going to have special treats at the end of every six weeks. Students now have 6 opportunities during the year for a special attendance treat. In order to get the perfect attendance treat, the student must be present every day of the six week period and not have any tardies or leave early from school without a medical note (note must be for the student). We hope this will encourage our students to come to school. We understand that our students will be sick and need to stay home, so this presents some extra opportunities to be rewarded and not have to be PERFECT! We had 114 students to earn the attendance prize for the first six weeks!
