Fun Fair is Back at WES! (New)
After two years, our WES Fun Fair is coming back!
Thanks to our wonderful WES PTA, Fun Fair will be taking place on Friday, May 13th from 5:00-8:00 PM!
We are going all out this year! Fun Fair will have a variety of activities such as games, face painting, a photo booth, a video game truck, an animal experience, make and take crafts, a book fair, food, inflatables, a silent auction, and more!
In order to make this happen for our kids this year, we need YOUR help!
To make sure everything runs smoothly that evening, we need parent volunteers! Please be on the lookout in NEXT WEEK'S newsletter for a sign-up sheet to help with Fun Fair!

Healthy Habits Are Essential For Growing Strong, Productive Minds in Our Children!
(RECURRING) WES Devices: Chargers, and Cords Going Home
If/when a child is sent home for COVID related reasons, we want to ensure that each student has everything they need to meet virtually with their class(es): This includes sending home a device, charging brick, and cord.
Our Tech Department does a wonderful job of ensuring that these items are placed in a Ziploc bag with a note for each child.
As a reminder, if the charging brick and cord are not returned upon your child's returning to school, for grades KG-2nd, a $5 fee for each the charging brick and cord will be assessed to your child's account. For grades 3-6, a $20 fee will be assessed for a missing Chromebook charging brick and cord.
If items are misplaced or forgotten, we will send home a reminder to return the item, but if the charging brick or cord is not returned within 48 hours, that $5 fee will be assessed until the items are returned.
If you have any questions, please contact Principal Fuller at pfuller@jgsc.k12.in.us
(RECURRING) Boys and Girls Club Information
Starting this school year, the JG Before and After School Program is transitioning into the Boys and Girls Club to provide before and after school care for our elementary students.
You should have received an email from Mr. Davis earlier this week, but if not, please click HERE for more information on the program.
With any new program, there will be some bumps along the way, but here are TWO UPDATES that will hopefully alleviate any stress:
- The wonderful individuals you have gotten to know with John Glenn B/A Care will be back as part of the Boys and Girls Club Program!
- The service will start our first day of school, Wednesday, August 11th
Please register for care as normal. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Mrs. Heather Harrison at hharrison@jgsc.k12.in.us

Principal Fuller's Thoughts
Do you have that one task that just seems to get pushed down the road, moving from getting done today, to tomorrow, to next week...to never?
We've talked before about 'Eating Your Frogs'...doing those things you don't want to do that just sit on your to-do list each day never getting done.
Recently, I've been working on a writing project that becomes more difficult to tackle now that the end is in sight.
It's been a long process from start to finish, and now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it has become a real bear to find the time to sit down and work on it.
The funny thing is, it's not the writing part that's hard...what is hard is actually sitting down to write.
Isn't that ironic...sitting down has become the challenge :)
I've been reading a lot from author Steven Pressfield, and he calls that feeling 'The Resistance'
We all experience The Resistance in our life....we don't tell ourselves, "You'll never write that book you've always dreamed of"...instead, we say "I'll start writing it when work settles down, or when the kids are in high school, or (insert excuse here)"
The more important a call or action is to our soul's desire, the more The Resistance tries to stop us from accomplishing what we want.
Maybe you've always wanted to finish that degree or write that dream book...I can tell you, there is never going to be a perfect time to start.
And let's be honest with ourselves...'starting' something is the biggest step you could ever take.
This very day...this very moment...you can choose to take control of your life and change your situation!
Don't wait one more day...DON'T LET THE RESISTANCE WIN...TAKE THAT LEAP, ARMS WIDE OPEN!
On a side note, it's hard to imagine, but Baby Benjamin will be two year's old this Tuesday. I so enjoy sharing his and Brooklyn's weekly pictures with you, and I truly appreciate all of the kind words from everyone :)
