CAMPUS PROTOCOLS
Effective immediately, all individuals are required to wear masks during indoor gatherings, worship, meetings, or classes when on the church campus. Maricopa County is considered to be a “high” area of community transmission for COVID, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data tracking (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker). We appreciate your patience and help in doing whatever is necessary to protect one another.
ENJOY DONUT HOLES AND COFFEE ON CELEBRATION SUNDAY
This Sunday, August 1, is Celebration Sunday. Children will remain in worship with their families. The service will include a short children’s message, in addition to activity bags, as children remain in worship to celebrate the Lord’s Supper with their parents. Nursery is provided for children 0-3 years old. Donut holes will be served along with coffee and water between services in the breezeway.
THE LORD'S SUPPER
This Sunday, August 1, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper in worship. If participating at home, please have a small piece of bread or cracker and small cup of water, juice, or wine readily available.
SECOND QUARTER STATEMENTS
The second quarter giving statements that were recently mailed did not include the second quarter giving activity. To access where you stand to date with your pledge or giving, please be sure to review your first and second quarter statements. Or, if you prefer, please contact the church office and request a revised giving statement and one will be resent to you. We are in transition with our office staff and a mistake occurred. We will ensure the third quarter statements are correct. Please accept our apologies and do hesitate to contact us with any questions.
COFFEE FELLOWSHIP IN THE BREEZEWAY
Coffee and ice water will be served every Sunday morning between the 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. worship services in the breezeway. Our hope is to provide an opportunity for attendees of both services to get to know one another. The first Sunday of each month donut holes will be served as part of Celebration Sundays.
INSTALLATION SERVICE FOR REV. ADAM ROE
Please come and celebrate the installation of Rev. Adam Roe as Associate Pastor of The Church at Litchfield Park, Sunday, August 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Cake will be served following the service in Souers Hall.
CONGRATULATIONS, PASTOR ADAM
Pastor Adam was recently blessed with a very unexpected surprise. He was selected as the top chaplain of 2020 for the Air Force and will be flying to Washington DC to receive the award August 10-12. We are so proud of you and excited you are part of The Church at Litchfield Park.
NEW ACCOUTING CLERK
Please join us in welcoming our new part-time accounting clerk Mary Undiano. A graduate of the University of Phoenix, Mary has more than 20 years accounting experience and is excited to be joining our team. She will be working Monday through Thursday, mornings to early afternoon, and will begin training this Monday, August 2. Mary looks forward to meeting you and we cannot wait for you to meet her!
SEARCHING FOR HISTORICAL PHOTOS
Our Historian is looking for pieces of our church’s history. If you have pictures (either digital or paper) of any of the following events, Meredeth Stucky would like copies. Particular events are: 2020 Confirmation Sunday; 2021 Outdoor Christmas Pageant in the parking lot; 2021 Christmas Eve Service in the south parking lot. For High School Graduations, she is looking for pictures and their descriptions of events for 2019, 2020, and 2021 (she already has pictures of the 2020 baccalaureate). Just a reminder, please don’t throw away any bits of church history. Send them to Meredeth so they can help fill in pieces of our story. If you have any questions, please contact Meredeth or call the church office at (623) 935-3411.
TOWEL WRAPS FOR NEW LIFE CENTER
For years, groups within the church have made “towel wraps” for New Life Center. These are used to give to newcomers as a welcome and for something special just for the individual. We will be doing more soon. When you travel and have the small shampoos, conditioners, soaps, lotions, toothpaste, and toothbrushes left over, consider saving them. Place them in a bag marked NLC and bring them to the church office for the wraps. Thank you.
HOMELESS YOUTH CONNECTION
One of the local missions our church supports is Homeless Youth Connection, an organization that helps youth who are experiencing homelessness to find their strengths and give them hope for a successful future. Homeless Youth Connection assisted 332 youth this past year in our area. Our congregation has been asked to help them fulfill their needs by going to their AmazonSmile website, where you can see their Wish List. Through AmazonSmile, you can donate to them directly. Go to http://bit.ly/HYCAmazonSmile where you will find a list of their greatest needs, such as toiletries and backpacks.
WANT TO LEARN TO PLAY HANDBELLS?
Have you ever wondered what it is like to ring a handbell? Have you ever wondered if you could ring in one of our handbell choirs? One does not have to read music. Marilyn will teach you how to do that, too. If you would like to learn how to play this beautiful instrument, please contact our Bell Master, Marilyn Chandler, or call our church office at (623) 935-3411. Don’t say you can’t play handbells; you won’t know for sure unless you try!
