Mrs. Rumsey's Roundup

Week of December 14-December 18

WHAT DID WE LEARN THIS WEEK?

Math: This week in math we will be continuing to take our CBA.

Reading: This week we learned about how good readers visualize when they are reading stories to help them comprehend. We practiced this with some still poems this week about a Green Giant and My Neighbor's Dog being Purple. They had a blast!

Writing: We have been learning about procedural writing. We focused specifically on how writers write How-to stories to teach readers how to do something step by step.

Science: In Science this week, we began learning about changes in the weather.

We would love for you to join us! If you plan to leave after the party, please make sure to sign out with me in our classroom. Also, if possible, please try to leave siblings at home. Thank you!

Hour Of Code

We had such a blast yesterday with the Hour of Code. We went to the iPad lab and learned how to computer program on the ipads. The app that we used was so engaging that I wanted to share it with you in case you wanted to use it at home! They LOVED it! It is called Box Island.
