Mrs. Bama Turner's class was excited to use a brand new microscope acquired after being awarded a CCS Foundation grant. Mrs. Turner enjoyed watching her students take advantage of this new piece of equipment. "It gives them a better opportunity to use them instead of having to 'wait your turn'."
Students prepared their own little ponds in plastic tubs at the beginning of the school year. They were placed outside in a flowerbed and they have been allowed to sit for months. They were brought inside a couple of weeks ago to see what types of microorganisms could be found lurking in the water. The students were surprised at their findings. There were a lot of paramecium, all in a small drop of water. Mrs. Turner is very grateful to the CCS Foundation for their support.
