Collection Contest
Box Tops for Education, Campbell's labels (upc barcode), Our Family brand labels (upc) and whole Econofood receipts are being collected. The classroom that collects the most at each grade level will receive root beer floats. The contest goes through next Friday, May 20th, BUT since we'll be at the Zoo all day & I have to have them counted and organized, please turn them in by Thursday the 19th. THANKS! All of those things really add up & help pay for our transportation costs on field trips.
This week...
we reviewed several math topics - the scavenger hunt using the augmented reality app Aurasma was very fun. Your child can explain how it works. (It was finicky & didn't want to go, but we got it to cooperate eventually!) Check out the pictures below. We started reading about rocks in out Storytown book, too. We took our year end FAST assessments in reading and math in the computer lab. Overall I am VERY, VERY pleased to see the growth & progress shown in these assessments. Good job everyone!
Next week...
special events include walking to the Public Library & stopping at Prairie Park to eat on the way back on TUESDAY. Cold lunch and beverage is needed. Next FRIDAY is our trip to Como Zoo. Again, cold lunch and beverage are needed. Chaperones, I'll be sending you a note at the beginning of the week. Please make sure PERMISSION slips are turned in. Also, I hadn't yet mentioned the cost of bowling is $2. Please send that in a labeled envelope by Monday the 23rd. THANKS!
Homework
Let's Go Rock Collecting is on the RAH sheet.
One last Speak Up is coming home, too.
Math - practice, practice, practice those facts. Knowing them quickly is such an advantage!
