Education & Training Students Take the Little ones Trick or Treating
It's that time of year again! The preschoolers of ABC Learning Center and the students of Education and Training 2 and 3 went trick or treating in the hallways of the high school. The little ones were excited to go to new places like the main office and the nurse's office. The experience enables the high school students to organize the route, prepare the preschoolers for the long journey, and understand how much planning goes into a field trip.
Stockton University students visit the EHTHS library to conduct poetry workshops with our students and English teachers.
Chabad at the Shore
On Wednesday, October 30, Mr. Hammond and the Holocaust and Genocide classes visited the Chabad at the Shore in Ventnor. The students heard about one family’s escape from Germany to South Africa after Kristallnacht. The Hammerschlag family smuggled out a Torah which is now about 250 to 300 years old and is housed at the Chabad. Students were able to see the scroll and the many other artifacts from the time period donated to the center by the family.
Costumes and Johnny Cakes
On Thursday Oct. 31st Mrs. Huntley’s US 1 Honors students assumed the role of a person or object from American history. Each student designed a costume and have written a short speech that will express their role and importance in American History. They enjoyed authentic colonial food as well. Mrs. Huntley made 80 Johnny cakes!
HN German Students Learn Street Safety
HN German 2 Students read the Tiger and Bear children's book on street safety as part of MP 1 Unit Let's Go Shopping In Town. Students play the game as a review of the road safety rules before the written test on the book. Later in December at the Christmas Village in Philadelphia, the students will demonstrate their learning while crossing the street to the 2 areas of the Christmas Village at JFK Plaza and City Hall.

Thanksgiving Feast
Noche Latina
Nearly 100 students and family members attended the event, which began with a dinner sponsored by the EHT Education Association. Parents who do not have an account to access their child’s grades online were given assistance to set up their account.
After the meal, parents entered the computer lab where they followed along on a Google Presentation prepared by the district’s Bilingual Parent Coordinator, Mrs. Jenny Dilks. Parents of children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels learned useful information for them and their child. A good portion of the presentation concentrated on helping the parents navigate the high school years with their child.
This was the third event that Mrs. Dilks has planned for Spanish-speaking families in the district. A similar event with a different focus will be planned for Spring 2020. All Hispanic Parents from Egg Harbor Township are encouraged to attend. More pictures from the event can be seen on the district’s website for the Spanish Speaking community: https://recursosparapadres.weebly.com/
Embry Riddle Presentation
Students from the Egg Harbor Township high school as well as a few middle school students had the opportunity to be a part of a special presentation by the Embry Riddle Aeronautical School Staff. The students saw a demo of the eBee Drone and the software program used to create the drone missions. This technology is used in agricultural field to support farmers by providing distinct data about the farming land, which can be used as a predictor for trouble areas.
